Auckland, New Zealand, Aug, 2017 -- Concentrix announced the winners of the Concentrix Unitec Leadership Success Scholarship, in partnership with Unitec Institute of Technology. This scholarship programme, launched in June earlier this year, provides annual tuition grants of NZD $5,000 each to ten outstanding students of the Institute.
Over sixty students participated in the scholarship programme, vying for one of ten scholarships. Concentrix received high quality applications that demonstrated individual academic achievements, performance at work, character, and leadership potential. The application process was rigorous, with candidates required to "win" the scholarship by demonstrating their abilities through action. Under the programme, students will receive training from business professionals and academics, who will be engaged to mentor the students throughout the duration of the programme.
"I am delighted to be awarding these scholarships, in cooperation with our education partner Unitec, to a very deserving and outstanding set of individuals. At Concentrix, we strongly believe in broadening the educational opportunities available to more New Zealanders," said Peter Monk, Concentrix General Manager Australia and New Zealand.
"We are proud that these scholarships will assist in helping the recipients successfully complete their studies. The mentoring, opportunity for work experience and executive interactions will provide additional life skills that will assist with the transition from study to work and facilitate growth into positive contributors to society," Monk further added.
Unitec’s Chief Executive, Rick Ede, said the scholarship programme was an opportunity to celebrate and support enterprising students. "This is a fantastic programme to identify students who can bring something special to our campus, as well as encourage members of the wider community to contribute through their positive actions and attitudes. The chance to gain work experience and employment with Concentrix, in addition to a generous contribution to the recipients’ education costs, makes this a hugely valuable scholarship programme."
This programme promotes leadership, community, institution and cultural diversity, and we are proud to announce the following winners for the ten 2017 Concentrix Unitec Leadership Success scholarships: Jitesh Prasad, Melinda Dyble, Ravikumar Sadashiv Jadhav, Bradley Kehoe, Lidonna Penerata, Susan O’Brien, George Mataupu, Makapi Mataio, Hillary DePuy and Priyanka Singh.
We will be presenting the scholarships at Unitec on the 17th of August. All applicants have been invited to the presentation event and to enjoy a networking opportunity.
