Henrietta, NY, USA, February, 2017 -- A call center located in Henrietta is closing this year, leaving nearly 200 people without jobs.
According to the Department of Labor, Unisys Corporation will begin layoffs on May 4. There are 178 employees at the call center.
The call center will be closed by the end of the year. Unisys says this is part of an ongoing plan to streamline operations by consolidating work into other call centers. These jobs are moving to Augusta, GA.
Unisys says associates can apply for other positions in the company that they qualify for. Those that don’t want to reapply with the company will be offered assistance for their job search.
According to Unisys, minimum wage guidelines were not a factor in the closing.
