San Francisco, CA, USA, Apr 25, 2017 -- The Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) has retained Hampton, Va.-based Faneuil Inc. to operate a walk-in customer service center to help transit riders acquire and use Clipper cards – reloadable transit fare payment cards – throughout the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area. Faneuil will assume responsibility for operation of the center on July 1, 2017.
In addition to selling Clipper cards for adult travelers, Faneuil staff will be able to issue Youth and Senior Clipper cards on the spot and add value to any kind of Clipper card. Customers can also stop by the center to pick up a card they have ordered as a replacement for a lost or stolen card.
"Our customers depend on the in-person Clipper Customer Service Center at the Embarcadero station for a variety of services," said MTC Senior Program Coordinator David Weir, who oversees customer service activities for the Clipper program. "We look forward to working with Faneuil to continue to deliver the highest quality customer service possible."
"We welcome the opportunity to connect Bay Area residents and visitors with the many public transit options available to them for traveling throughout the Bay Area," noted Faneuil President and Chief Executive Officer Anna Van Buren. "Faneuil’s focus on delivering consistently positive customer experiences will ensure that Bay Area travelers have the support they need to navigate this spectacularly beautiful part of our country as a cost-effective alternative to driving alone."
