With existing companies looking to implement new systems or technologies the first thing that a company should have is a universal buy in across all of the departments. You won’t have a successful implementation unless you have everyone on the same page working together. In addition, before you talk to your vendor make sure that you have all of the goals, your business processes and your requirements in a very specific document. Make sure that your vendor understands what you are trying to do. Ultimately a successful implementation is not magic; it is just a lot of hard work. If you understand that going into it, then you will have a much higher chance of success. - Jim Dawson of Datex
