Costa Rica - April 3, 2008 - MACH, a provider of business processes to optimise roaming profitability, today announced that I.C.E. (Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad) Costa Rica has moved from VeriSign to become a new MACH client.
I.C.E., the incumbent operator in Costa Rica, selected MACH for its reputation, and future portfolio of services, which will propel them towards even greater success and profitability. I.C.E. now subscribes to MACH Fraud Protection, Data Clearing and IOT Check and will be serviced and supported by MACH’s U.S. and Brazil offices.
The relationship is a significant alliance that represents MACH’s continued growth and burgeoning ties with Latin America, a region that holds approximately 12% of GSM technologies worldwide. Currently, there are more than 300 million Latin American GSM subscribers with more than 30 million new customers in Q4 2007. Mobile phone penetration is 61%, compared to 18% penetration for fixed lines and only 4% for Internet connections, making GSM the predominant way of communication.
MACH Fraud Protection provides immunisation against roaming fraud via rapid detection, surveillance and shutdown. MACH Data Clearing ensures the secure generation of files and exchange of roaming data for timely settlement. MACH IOT Check detects and handles erroneous charges for accurate invoicing. Further product developments will be launched during 2008.
According to Oscar Miranda, MACH’s Vice President of Business Development & Sales, CALA: "MACH is honoured to be chosen for our roaming expertise, innovation and assistance in the growth of I.C.E. Our specialist knowledge of the region, guaranteed local support and complete understanding of I.C.E.’s requirements were the deciding factors. MACH has mature, proven solutions and global prominence. We look forward to working with the team and expanding the success and future potential of I.C.E. Costa Rica." |
