Alteva Receives Unified Communications® Magazine’s 2010 Product of the Year

PHILADELPHIA, PA, April 6, 2011 -- Alteva, a Unified Communications (UC) solution provider headquartered in Philadelphia, today announced that TMC, a global, integrated media company, has named Alteva’s voice integrated UC Solution as a recipient of its 2010 Unified Communications magazine Product of the Year Award.

In April 2010, Alteva transitioned away from being just a hosted VoIP service provider to launching its hosted UC solution. In a relationship with Microsoft and Broadsoft, Alteva developed a way to interconnect its hosted voice services with the Microsoft Communication Services product suite, including Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint and Office Communications Server (OCS). Alteva was one of only a few hosted voice service providers in the world selected to offer the complete suite of Microsoft Communication Services with voice integration, allowing for a true hosted UC environment where a hosted IP phone system fully integrates with email, voicemail and workflow applications.

"Alteva continues to be honored throughout our industry for its excellence in technical innovation," said William Bumbernick, Chief Innovation Officer, Alteva. "The Unified Communications Product of the Year Award highlights our commitment to equip businesses with a cloud-based solution that provides productivity increases and cost savings. This enables businesses, whether large or small, to be more agile and more competitive."

Alteva’s hosted UC takes basic business-based technology like voice communications and combines that with office communications such as instant messaging, video conferencing, desktop sharing, telepresence, etc. It enables employees to access critical business information from any location, at any time, on any device. Workers can access email and customer information, view and edit documents, manage calendars, and collaborate with coworkers remotely as if they were still in the office, and the hosted VoIP integration enables customers to benefit from voice-enabled Exchange features including Outlook calendars and email; phone presence; vendor bill consolidation; scalability; increased control; business continuity and mitigation of technology obsolescence.

"Alteva has proven they are committed to quality and excellence while addressing real needs in the marketplace. Unified Communications is pleased to grant a 2010 Product of the Year Award for its hosted UC solution," said Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC. "We’re proud to honor their hard work and accomplishments and look forward to more innovative solutions from Alteva in the future."
