5 December 2011 -- BAASS Business Solutions Inc. (BAASS), Sage ERP Accpac re-seller in Canada, has signed a partnership agreement with V1 Document Management, an American-based provider of document management and imaging software. This agreement will enable BAASS’ Sage ERP Accpac, Sage ERP X3, and Sage CRM customers to access V1 Document Management’s full portfolio of integrated document management and imaging solutions directly from their Sage systems.
Kevin Hollis, V.P. New Business Developmentat BAASS, says, "No other document management partner could provide us with V1 Document Management’s breadth of offering. We were particularly impressed by the optical character recognition solution for the automated capture of invoice information from vendor invoices. This, combined with the increasing demand from our customer base for improved document management functionality, led us to enter into a partnership with V1 Document Management." Using V1 Document Management’s solutions integrated into their Sage systems, BAASS’ customers will be able to automate accounts payable. Vendor invoices received into the organization will be scanned, archived and automatically tagged to the appropriate records in Sage.
Optical character recognition (OCR) technology will read and verify the data on the invoices before being uploaded to the core system, reducing manual data entry. At the same time, by using the authorization solution, the imaged invoices are automatically emailed to the relevant approvers for them to approve, reject, or query on-screen. Once the invoice has been authorized, the accounting department can be automatically notified so that payment can be made and the accompanying remittance advice can be automatically emailed to the vendor.
Lynne Munns, V.P of V1 Document Management, says, "Accounting and ERP software providers are increasingly finding that our integrated document management and imaging software solutions are head and shoulders above similar solutions in the market. Our products deliver end-to-end accounts payable automation while integrating tightly with Sage ERP Accpac, Sage ERP X3, and Sage CRM."
BAASS customers that use V1 Document Management’s solutions can expect significant cost savings by cutting stationery, printing, photocopying, storage, and postage costs. Time-consuming administration is also reduced, storage space is freed-up, and manual data entry of invoice information is reduced.
Munns adds, "V1 Document Management’s solutions streamline the whole accounts payable process, providing greater control over the authorization and payment of vendor invoices. Customers typically see a payback on their investment within just six months, delivering a compelling proposition during a time of economic austerity."
