Cabinet NG Introduces Industry First Features with CNG-WEB 8

Huntsville, AL, August 16, 2011 -- Cabinet NG (CNG), provider of document management and workflow management software, today announced a new version of CNG-WEB, its browser-based document management interface. This release marks the latest step in the company’s strategy to make documents available to authorized users securely at any time, from anywhere. CNG-WEB now adds the ability to support folder workflow, folder notes, and folder alerts over the Internet, an industry first.

CNG-WEB’s flexibility extends browser-based document management across the cloud by connecting with documents stored at the customer’s premises or hosted in a SaaS environment. CNG-WEB improves productivity by allowing users to review and approve workflows associated with individual documents or folders. A new folder alert mechanism helps users become aware of special items by drawing their attention to notes that are flagged in the system.

"Working remotely, CNG-WEB allows me to securely look up the information I need, whether I am at home or the office. All I need to do is open my browser, sign in and I can start being productive. It’s so simple, I love it," said Andrea Gindlesperger, relationship manager, Capital Guardian, LLC, a regional investment/brokerage firm.

By using CNG-WEB, CNG customers can more efficiently extend document management and workflow to remote workers and branch offices without the need to install and manage software on employee computers. Because it is streamlined, it makes it much more intuitive and simpler to use than historic desktop interfaces. As a result, CNG-WEB is ideal for organizations wanting to quickly tap the benefits of going paperless with minimum effort and training.

CNG also offers a hybrid approach to document management by simultaneously supporting browser and desktop access. Complementing CNG-SAFE, CNG’s robust client-server software, with CNG-WEB enables CNG customers to apply the right tool for streamlining their document management and workflow processes. Users wishing to perform daily tasks such as accessing documents, approving workflows, uploading documents, etc. can benefit from using CNG-WEB, whereas power users, performing more intensive tasks such as batch document processing, advanced capture, etc. are more efficient at performing these tasks using the CNG-SAFE desktop software.

"Our strategy to provide hybrid document management fits the market’s demand for using mixed technology. Offering our customers the ability to choose between a web interface and a desktop interface enables them to optimize their productivity in accessing and managing their documents," said Andrew Bailey, president of CNG. "A simple, web-based interface makes it easier for users across the enterprise to perform their document related tasks, while the desktop interface gives power-users the ability to access the full array of capture, reporting and system management features that are built in to CNG-SAFE."
