Capita Acquires Vertex Call Centre

Sept 19, 2011 -- The private sector call centre division of outsourcing business Vertex has been snapped up by support service group Capita.

Capita said the deal would enhance its existing customer services operations following its takeover of contact centre provider Ventura earlier this year.

Vertex Private Sector is strong in the retail, utilities and telecoms markets.

It has 1,400 employees across sites in Manchester, Salford, Liverpool, Sheffield and Forres, Scotland. They will all transfer to Capita.

Paul Pinder, chief executive of Capita, said: "This acquisition will bring new expertise and capabilities that will not only strengthen our existing proposition but will also open up new market opportunities in the private sector."
