Convergys Recruiting for 600 Full-time Call Center Workers in Lubbock

Nov 10, 2011 -- Convergys is recruiting for 600 employees to provide customer service and technical support from its Lubbock call center for a client in the cable/satellite industry.

Applications are being taken online now, and the company will have an on-site job fair as well.

"These positions are ideally suited to anyone who appreciates the importance of building strong customer relationships while helping resolve a caller’s inquiries or concerns," said Shari Barnes, site leader for the Convergys contact center in Lubbock. "In addition, these positions also require some technical knowledge of a variety of products and services, so we’re looking for candidates with excellent troubleshooting skills."

Barnes said the company promotes from within, and more than 70 percent of the company’s customer service managers started with the company as agents handling calls.

Amy Williams, senior public relations manager at the company’s Cincinnati headquarters, said the starting pay for the jobs is $9 per hour, with a differential for employees hired with previous experience.

Convergys offers employees competitive wages, paid comprehensive training, and benefits including medical and dental insurance, tuition reimbursement, 401(k) and paid and unpaid time off.

Potential Convergys employees should possess solid customer service and sales experience, strong computer and keyboarding skills, and the ability to work a flexible schedule. Employment with Convergys is also contingent on the successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
