News : Makkah Municipality Deploys Oracle-based e-Services Platform
Jan 2, 2012 -- Makkah Municipality has completed the deployment of a wide ranging e-services platform based on Oracle solutions, which will help it introduce new services and automate business processes.
The project provides a single integrated platform, which will enable various e-services along with integration with existing systems, other agencies and provide greater insight into processes.
The platform includes Oracle Enterprise Content Management, for communication with other public sector agencies; integration with geographical information systems (GIS); business intelligence dashboards and contact centre integration.
A wide range of Oracle solutions were deployed for the platform, including Oracle Siebel eService Portal and Case Management, Oracle Autovue, Oracle WebCenter Content, Oracle Service-Oriented Architecture, Oracle Weblogic Suite, Oracle Business Intelligence Foundation Suite and Oracle GIS Integration.
Makkah Municipality will now be able to roll out e-services more rapidly, such as issuing of building permits, shops permits and excavation permits, and automate its field inspection divisions and contact centre.
The solution will be able to expand to future requirements and delivers middleware to integrate other systems in future.
Dr Ibrahim Abdulla, CIO of Makkah Municipality, said: "As a holy shrine, Makkah is one of the most visited cities in the world and is constantly growing. Hence, the Municipality was looking for an optimal IT solution that can serve the current and future requirements of the city's growth. After implementing a rigid scrutiny process, the Oracle solution presented to us proved to be the strongest and the most responding to our needs and objectives."
"Oracle products optimally dovetail with the needs of businesses and organizations in the MEA region's public and private sector, to help them streamline their operations, maximise ROI and drive constant growth. We're delighted that Makkah Municipality has chosen Oracle integrated solutions to optimise overall service quality and meet their current and future objectives," added Abdul Rahman Al Thehaiban, vice president, Oracle Middle East & Africa.
