News : PT. KAI Serves Online Ticket Purchasing
June 14, 2011 -- Indonesia Train Company (PT. KAI) is now applying online ticket purchasing through cooperation with minimart in all Java regions. However, for the moment it serves for executive and business train only.
The company commercial director Sulistyo Wimbo Hardjito said this innovation is to increase services for people in getting train ticket easily. "They can just visit the minimart in cooperation with PT. KAI and then give the ticket booking information," he explained after inauguration of this new system in Gambir Station, Central Jakarta, Tuesday (6/14).
Furthermore he added that besides booking through online at minimart, public can also purchase ticket by calling to vending machine which will be placed in train stations or shopping centers. They just have to dial 121 of contact center from house phone or 021-121 from hand phone to receive booking code.
The payment must be settled through Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) at the latest 3 hours after getting the booking code. Then, submit the ATM receipt at the station counter before or at the time of departure. Whereas for ticket booking at minimart can be conducted 30 days up to a day before depart.
Passengers must give some information of name, address, telephone number, train name or number which will be used, origin and travel destination, date and hour departure, and amount of passenger. On each reservation, only 4 seats max available for passenger.
After fill in all information, continued with payment transaction at the minimart. Then, the ticket buyer will receive ticket booking code and payment receipt to be exchanged for real ticket at the station of departure.
