Content continues ….

Some people know what they like and are content with not straying far from their preferences. For these individuals, a new food that still feels familiar is a great way to both impress and satisfy. One familiar option that is sure to be a hit is schnitzel. Hailing from Northern Europe, this is a thin piece of meat, commonly chicken, veal, pork, or beef. It is breaded and fried, leaving a crispy entrée that everyone will enjoy. It is served with a lemon to squeeze on top of the meat, and typical sides include French fries or potato salad.

Another option in the familiar category is peri-peri chicken. Peri-peri is a specific African pepper that is used to make a pepper sauce aptly named “peri-peri sauce.” Peri-peri chicken is commonly a grilled chicken, cooked with bright flavors like lime, garlic, and the peri-peri sauce. Watch out for spice levels on this dish to ensure that all your employees get something that isn’t too hot (or not hot enough)!

One final familiar option is the Polish pierogi. It is a sort of dumpling that can be filled with a huge variety of ingredients. Typical fillings include ground meat, potatoes, or even fruits. Fillings are wrapped in a flour dough, cooked by boiling, and then finished off with a pan fry. Toppings vary greatly but are generally just something that will compliment the filling. These bite-sized treats can be served as an appetizer, casual finger food, an entire meal, or even a dessert. They will certainly fly off the trays at your next employee event.

Exotic Options

Perhaps you want to give your employees a meal they will remember. It can be a team bonding experience to learn about and taste a foreign cuisine. Maybe you have some adventurous folks in your staff who love and appreciate novelty. In any case, these more exotic food options are sure to wow your employees.

Poke bowls are tremendously popular with those who have tried them. Poke bowls are a combination of raw fish, a grain such as brown rice, and toppings such as cucumber, avocado, edamame, and carrots. Poke bowls can optionally be seasoned with sesame seeds, spicy mayo, or sriracha. There is a ton of room for customization within poke bowls. One can customize the fish, the grain, the toppings, and the seasonings, which means that everyone is sure to have a combination that they will enjoy!

Take your employee’s taste buds on a trip to South Korea with japchae. Japchae is a popular Korean dish made from sweet potato noodles that are tossed in a thin, sweet marinade and topped with meat and stir-fried vegetables. A common configuration is to top the noodles with sliced beef and stir-fried peppers, onions, and carrots. With its balanced sweet and savory flavors, japchae will be a dish that your employees won’t soon forget!

Go all out by having paella at your next event. Paella is a rice dish which finds its origins in Spain. It consists of Spanish rice, vegetables, chicken, and seafood all cooked in one pan. Common vegetables to include in a paella are bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes, while common seafoods to include are shrimp and mussels. Saffron, one of the dish’s most important ingredients, brings a flavor not common to many palettes. Paella is a luxurious dish that will delight the office!

Providing food to employees is an easy way to show that you care. Catered sandwiches are great, but there are many other exciting options to try. No matter if your employees prefer simpler dishes or enjoy trying something totally new, these recommendations are sure to provide for meals that your employees will always remember!
