Your sales team is the lifeblood of the business.
Whether many will agree or not, sales team is called that for a reason...they bring in the sales and deliver most of the profit that the business will generate.
But sometimes, they can get burnt out and may begin to get a little bit distracted, reducing their motivation, thereby lessening their productivity.
You, as a business owner, begin to wonder how can you foster a good work culture and motivate them to become proactive. It's as easy as these three steps.
1. Be The Perfect Example..or At Least Try to Be
Isn't it annoying when your boss tells you to “do this” and be “like that” and then he himself isn't anything close?
So as much as possible, if you want your sales team to be proactive at work, lead by example and be proactive yourself. Start by asking them about the work or if there's any concern for them.
Apart from being seen as a "proactive superior," they'll also feel that they matter to the company, thereby inspiring them more.
2. Foster an Overall Good Work Relationship
Sales can be very competitive, but that doesn't mean that they have to kill and stab each other in the back!
Backstabbing treats and toxic culture can kill proactiveness, so to prevent this, encourage your team to have a good relationship. Let them socialise every now and then by treating them for some drinks or any kind.
By doing so, they will build better rapport with each other and will help each other at work in the future.
3. Reward Their Hardwork
Sometimes, people need to have their work rewarded to keep them proactive and motivated, more so for the sales team. In fact, many contact centre outsource services employ this strategy, which yield them positive results.
