Brexit shook the economy of the world - whether we like it or not.
The United Kingdom leaving the European Union meant major changes in the economy of many countries. For example, once Brexit goes into full swing, it will be hard for other countries in the European Union to get jobs in the United Kingdom.
And when that happens, there's a great chance of the U.K. experiencing a massive decline in the workforce, especially on some jobs that native Britons don't even want to do.
But as cliché as it sounds, when a door closes, another one opens. And it seems, the BPO industry in the U.K. is about to go boom.
According to Raconteuer, Brexit may mean more deals from outsourcing and offshoring companies and they have a good chance that they are right.
Despite the shakeup that Brexit did on many businesses, the outsourcing industry, particularly contact center outsourcing providers, seem to operate as usual with little to no problems occurring.
In fact, Alex John, a director at Livingstone, said that, “We are not seeing any drop in investor confidence. In fact, we are seeing good levels of investor interest, from both UK and overseas investors. The present view on Brexit seems to be that the UK economy is weathering the storm extremely well and therefore remains a good market for investment.”
However, since Brexit is yet to be fully implemented, many are still cautious on what will it really bring, but as of now, it seems to be either benefitting the BPO industry or it does not affect it at all.
According to the report, the outsourcing industry is known for flourishing even in the face of disruptive trade deals, legal bureaucracy and even political uncertainty. With these facts, if there's one industry that has a great chance of surviving the onslaught Brexit will do and then some, it will be this industry.
