The role and what you’ll be getting up to on a day-to-day basis:
We are looking for an enthusiastic Business Development Executive to generate sales leads and build intelligence within a database of new business targets through research, profiling, and digital marketing techniques, supported by outbound engagement. You will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and influencing targets to speak with Littlefish about their IT Services requirements and our service portfolio.
A successful Business Development Executive must be amiable, empathetic, engaging, and persuasive but also authoritative. Able to quickly understand the Littlefish culture, service portfolio and current customer portfolio/references. You must also be able to understand the customer’s requirements in a short time and present solutions that meet their needs whilst always seeking to arrange a face to face or equivalent introductory meeting and as a minimum, gleaning intelligence to populate our database.
The goal is to contribute to our growth by expanding the company’s target database and by contacting those targets to enable an increase in appointment setting for the BDM’s, which in turn will result in net new customers.
Your main duties will include:
Research prospective customer targets for lead pursuit
Identify suitable contacts within identified prospective customers to try to engage
Contribute data and intelligence to an existing database of new targets based on Littlefish’s ICP, to include firmographics, technographics, demographics and projects
Contact organisations by phone in the first instance or by email/LinkedIn
Understand Littlefish services to be able to discuss in detail with targets and arrange appointments to speak with our BDM’s and subject matter experts
Update details within Salesforce CRM
Engage with the Business Development Managers to align on geographical targets or vertical targets

What are we looking for in the successful candidate?
Strong Microsoft Office skills
Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Previous experience working in the services sector with medium and large corporate and public sector clients.
Should be aware of IT Managed Services and Outsourcing industry and trends.
Experience as a Sales Development Executive, Telemarketeer or similar sales/customer service role
Proven track record of successfully meeting sales quotas preferably over the phone
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Excellent English language skills
Skilled in negotiation and dealing with people
Persistent, determined and results-oriented
Patient and ability to handle rejection
High organisation skills
Strong interpersonal skills
