Job Description:
General Summary: Seeking a hands-on and functional Manager of Voice Engineering, with a strong background in analog and digital voice systems to lead our Voice Engineering team. This team delivers exceptional Voice-over-IP services and solutions to our customers nationally. This position reports to our Vice President of Information Technology and has direct reports. This role will be responsible for ensuring their team is trained, motivated, and able to meet the ever-changing needs of our customers.   Velocity, A Managed Solutions Company, operates many diverse and vendor agnostic platforms nationally. The incumbent in this role will be responsible for quickly understanding and operating on these platforms, using existing documentation and independent discovery of the environments, as needed.      This position is remote, with preference given to candidates near Holland, OH, or Mooresville, NC.   Principal Duties and Responsibilities: Lead, inspire, and manage a team of voice engineers Supervise daily operations and performance of the Voice Engineering team Collaborate with product, architecture, and operations teams to develop and ensure designs are aligned with the current and future needs of our customers, technology, and security requirements Develop measurable goals and performance metrics to articulate team success Provide expertise in voice technologies delivering carrier-grade services Coordinate and provide oversight to external carriers and third-party vendors Design, implement, and operate open-source voice platforms, call management systems, and IVRs in highly available geographically diverse environments Ensure that security improvements are successfully implemented and monitored Assist in developing and maintaining hardware life cycle management methodologies Review and provide guidance for operational documentation This position is responsible for a 24x7 operation and may provide support off hours, as needed Other duties and responsibilities, as assigned This position may require occasional travel Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: 4+ years’ experience implementing, troubleshooting, and maintaining VoIP systems 10+ years of progressive professional experience and leadership Demonstrated knowledge with telephone networks – POTS and VoIP Demonstrated knowledge working in Linux-based open-source environments and platforms Demonstrated knowledge with telephony standards and protocols – H.323, MGCP, ISDN, SIP, RTP Demonstrated knowledge with IP networks and troubleshooting (VoIP, NAT Traversal, STUN, etc.) Demonstrated knowledge programming and scripting (BASH / Python / JavaScript / PHP) Strong technical, leadership, and communication skills Demonstrate the ability to lead complex projects in a cross functional team environment Demonstrate the ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences Ability to hear ordinary conversations and phone communications Qualifications, Experience and Education: Required — Bachelor’s degree in technology or equivalent technical experience (5-years) Required — Experience with open-source voice technology (e.g. Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, FreePBX, OpenSIPS, Kamailio)  Preferred — Experience in hospitality or service provider networks Preferred — Industry relevant training and certifications — CCNA, CCNP, CCIE, dCAA, dCAP, etc. Source: https://recruitingbypaycor.com/career/JobIntroduction.action?clientId=8a7883d066c7d86d0166cb232b2825ff&id=8a78839e89b7fb2e0189fa0ec44340b2&source=&lang=en
