Closing date January 16th 2018Any Echo site considered but must be willing to travel weekly to other sites
This is a newly created role, reporting to the Director of People & Development, this role will manage development and training across all Echo sites. The role will have direct line management responsibility for a number of training specialists who are geographically dispersed across our sites and who have solely been focussed on the specific needs of the respective client/site. The role can be based out of any of our sites, but with weekly travel to Walsall and regularly to our other sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a ‘One Echo’ approach to how we develop and train employees from induction through the whole employee lifecycle
- Carryout training needs analysis and develop a training strategy that meets the varying needs of the business across all sites and contracts
- Carryout skills analysis of trainers to ensure internal capability and continuous professional development of training team
- Develop a strategy and structured plan for Echo’s approach to graduates, apprentices and work experience
- Placements; making best use of funding available through the Apprenticeship Levy
- Ensure Echo remains IIP accredited with a plan to increase through to Silver standard and beyond.
- Create measures to evaluate training and demonstrate return on investment
- In conjunction with each Business Unit, manage within appropriate budget
- Review use of training methodology and tools to ensure Echo is agile and innovative to ensure we are developing our employees in the best way for our Clients
- Understand what the latest thinking around development and training is in the market and look to incorporate into Echo’s plan
- Ensure we have robust process of maintaining accurate and up to date training records
- Review use of coaching with a view to develop coaching skills in Line Managers and employees
- Develop a more competency approach to development both from a leadership/behavioural perspective and a technical perspective
- Work with external companies, looking for opportunities for funding and/or accreditation
Skills
- Ability to build relationships at all levels including the ability to influence, challenge and guide Senior Managers
- Exceptional communication skills
- High levels of energy, creativity and flare in engaging key stakeholder and employees
- Highly proficient in the use of IT packages, with the creativity and confidence on how best to use a variety of methodology to engage and ensure the training is hitting the mark
- Confident decision maker who is able to work independently
- Proven ability to prioritise, meet deadlines and make best use of limited resources
- Ability to manage conflict
- Track record in designing and executing successful training programs
- Ability to plan, multi-task and manage time effectively
Other
- Of graduate calibre
- Previous experience in a Training or HR role essential
- People management experience desirable
- Good knowledge of learning styles
