About the team

The Product Infrastructure team focuses on performance, monitoring, security, infrastructure cost optimizations, and scalability of Dialpad’s Talk, Contact Center, and Sell products. Through design and implementing tools and processes across our cloud infrastructure and Dialpad product backend, this backend product engineering team is key to creating a stable, secure and performant experience for a large volume of concurrent users. Whether reducing time to ring, or bolstering our most utilized APIs, the Product Infrastructure team works with other engineering peers on application uptime to ensure that calling and messaging works smoothly for our users all the time.

Your role

As a  Staff Software Engineer, you’ll own the Product Infrastructure roadmap to build / support / maintain common infrastructure supporting the whole Product Eng Org (100+ Engineers). Your impactful work helps improve: Dialpad’s customer experience, reduce infrastructure costs, Security, Scalability. 

This position reports to our Product Infrastructure Engineering Manager and has the opportunity to be based in our LATAM offices.

What you’ll do

  • Defines 1-3 year roadmap/vision touching Product Infrastructure team charter.
  • Writes clear and complete architectural design documents which are easily understood by other team members.
  • Providing estimates on technical resources and requirements necessary to plan and begin projects
  • Takes responsibility for the execution of the Product Infrastructure team projects. Assists and drives where necessary to ensure the team meets its delivery milestones.
  • Develops well-tested features with appropriate test hooks resulting in low defect reports and faster engineering throughput.
  • Is widely recognized as the technical expert for a product area. Devises elegant solutions to difficult engineering problems.
  • Reviews technical designs to ensure features / products are well-integrated and fully meet business needs.
  • You’ll work not just on backend API performance tuning, but features within the product engineering codebase to promote reuse of common components and influence common implementations. For example: implement Multi Factor Authentication, replace deprecated libraries, develop tools / dashboards to save infrastructure costs.
  • Give larger scale internal demos on new features that you have completed and explain how they fit into the bigger picture. 
  • Continue contributing to fun projects meant to delight users!

Skills you’ll bring

As an experienced backend software engineer, you drive software delivery amp; operational excellence by turning well-defined business objectives into software systems. Significant impact on Organization-wide output.

  • 10+ years of strong experience in backend software engineering.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent in experience
  • Strong experience working with Cloud Technologies [Google Cloud Platform is a plus] and distributed technologies.
  • Experience with performance and optimization problems and a demonstrated ability to both diagnose and prevent them.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with highly agile and iterative development processes.
  • Experience with mentoring engineers and helping them grow their skills
  • Our Tech Stack: Python backend on Google Cloud Platform (AppEngine, Datastore , BigQuery, Dataflow, Memcache, Cloud Tasks, Pub / Sub), Redis, Elastic Search, Monitoring (Datadog, Grafana), Vue.js/Vuex frontend running natively in Electron, numerous integrations with third party services

What you will achieve

We are seeking an accomplished team player with demonstrated program management experience to join our technical program management team within the Engineering division. Responsibilities  

  • Own all aspects of managing the program that includes planning and execution for building a scalable, reliable, and high quality business communications product suite.
  • Partner closely with engineering managers, product managers, software engineers, product designers, QA and leadership to gather requirements, plan amp; manage efforts to release software features and products to our customers.
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication with other teams both inside and outside of the engineering organization, ensuring that requirements are well understood, and that priorities and release schedule expectations are managed across all stakeholders. 
  • Build and run processes that allow for the maximum agility and adaptation across engineering teams while measuring and maintaining the highest possible product quality
  • Brainstorm and communicate technical concepts, ideas and issues at the appropriate level of abstraction to both technical and non-technical stakeholders and partners.
  • Be comfortable wearing many hats and able to work in an agile environment with changing priorities and critical deadlines, we move very fast!

Requirements 

  • 6+ years of experience in technical project/program management or relevant ownership of software products in an engineering or product organization.
  • Experience translating product requirements into program/project plans; including managing scope, dependencies, schedule, risks and provide executive level status reporting.
  • Comfortable in communicating technical specifications for APIs, events, data models, authentication, and provisioning across developers both inside and outside Dialpad.
  • Experience working with third party companies and customer stakeholders, partners and /or vendor management systems for software delivery on modern software products/platforms such as Salesforce.
  • Experience working closely with locally present product/development teams while collaborating with a global leadership team across multiple time zones to drive project outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal amp; written communication skills; must be comfortable communicating with engineers and presenting to all levels of an organization.
  • Self-motivated, independent, and proactive; demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities

About the team

Dialpad’s Sales Engineers will contribute to our SMB Sales team by building technical relationships with prospects, delivering compelling product demonstrations, and running high touch proof of concepts.  In this role, our Sales Engineer will help businesses solve complex communications problems felt by everyone around the world.

Dialpad’s SE team plays an essential role in providing pre-sales technical support for all Dialpad products and services. This team aligns closely with Sales, Product, Engineering, Customer Success and Support, as well as, all levels of management on customer accounts.

Your role

As a Sales Engineer you’ll own running demos and proof of concepts, including the gathering of success criteria, system configuration, admin training, user training and troubleshooting. You’ll work closely with Account Executives to identify key customer requirements and present Dialpad solutions that meet those requirements.  You’ll possess an in-depth knowledge of Dialpad’s products and services, relating this knowledge in a way that is understandable to non-technical customers. 

This position reports to our Sales Engineering Manager for Small Business with preferred working hours set as US core hours 8am - 5pm Central Time Zone. 

What you’ll do 

  • Perform product demonstrations in English and Spanish
  • Deliver high touch proof of concepts
  • Learn the many technical tools the Sales Engineering team uses to test network environments
  • Complete a Sales Engineering Demo Certification
  • Partner with the SMB Sales team throughout the entire sales process

Skills you’ll bring

  • 2-3 years customer-facing experience working as either as Solution Architect, Sales Engineer, Implementation Engineer, Solutions Consultant or similar roles

  • Uphold the integrity of the Dialpad brand across various marketing and channel platforms. Drive the refinement of the Dialpad brand through the effective ideation and implementation of fresh digital and print campaigns that captivate audiences and bolster brand recognition, customer acquisition, and loyalty.
  • Take full ownership of design initiatives, overseeing them from inception to completion to produce innovative, compelling, and impactful creative content—from initial brainstorming and concept generation to final execution and launch.
  • Possess a keen eye for recognizing opportunities beyond the given task parameters. Demonstrate a passion and proficiency in articulating the strategic rationale behind creative choices to colleagues across different departments, including those less familiar with creative strategy and design principles.
  • Offer recommendations in regards to tactics, strategies, and tools.
  • Continuously enhance and fortify the visual identity toolkit for Dialpad, while staying aligned with the brand ethos and fundamental values.
  • Foster collaboration with content and social media teams.
  • Work closely with cross-functional partners to ensure visual coherence across all channels.
  • Provide guidance to less experienced designers on the team

Skills you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Design or equivalent practical experience
  • 5+ years of experience and a design portfolio showcasing conceptual prowess and mastery of formal design elements.
  • Experience in conversion and data-driven design
  • Proficiency in print production and best practices

Skills you’ll bring

  • A strong design practitioner and team member with 5+ years of experience designing digital experiences.
  • Ability to work through the entire product development process, from discovery to solution generation - wireframes to detailed UI - visual design to final launch. Bonus if you have experience implementing designs in HTML, CSS, and JS.
  • Be able to deliver design strategy, user research, information architecture, workflow creation, wireframes and interaction design, visual design, prototypes, and micro-interactions)

The Product Engineering, Call Features team is focused on the control of the call and provides a stable platform for the Talk and Contact Center applications to be built on top of. An interface between Product Engineering applications like Talk (Phones, departments) and Contact Center (call centers, coaching teams, sales centers) and the Telephony platform (bare metal, SIP, media transport), Call Features provide important features such as fan-outs to member of a department, queuing logic for inbound call centers, routing of calls via IVRs or Voice, local presence enabling dialing out from the local area code of the call recipient, Coaching Teams for listening in and live mentorship, monitoring, and more.

The backend engineering work of the Call Features team is central to complex debugging of a distributed system using Google App Engine logging and custom tooling, and is critical to Dialpad managing a high volume of concurrent calls. 

Your role

As a Software Engineer, you’ll help build and support features for both internal product teams and customers. You’ll work closely with the rest of the team to identify performance and scalability improvements to help take our platform to the next level.

This position reports to our Call Features Engineering Manager and has the opportunity to be based in our LATAM Offices.

The Telephony Platform team maintains a complex set of APIs and microservices that provide the backbone for real-time communication in our products.  On the Telephony Quality team, you play an essential role in testing the complex systems that support our products.  We work cross-functionally and across projects, collaborating closely with developers and product managers to positively impact the quality and performance of the platform. 

Your role

Dialpad’s Software Developer In Test is a skilled developer adept at building scalable test frameworks. A passionate quality leader with excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of guiding a team to the automation paradise. You will be building and maintaining system-level testing frameworks, including but not limited to API, Load, and functional product testing.  You will lead design decisions and work closely with other senior developers.

This position reports to our Quality Engineering Manager in the USA and has the opportunity to be based in our Argentina Office.

What you’ll do

  • Design and develop flexible test frameworks to increase developer confidence.
  • Lots of test cases and client/service simulation development in Python.
  • Independently analyzing and troubleshooting advanced Python code and microservices.
  • Develop and implement reporting that will contribute to the rapid resolution of failures.
  • Develop and execute load testing against a variety of systems.
  • Participate in software design discussions, reviews, and test strategy sessions.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive test strategy.
  • Publish and communicate test results and progress.
  • Mentor other engineers and your knowledge of automation and testing best practices.
  • Advocate for doing the right thing even if it’s difficult.

Skills you’ll bring

  • Strong programming experience in any top language, such as Python or Java
  • Strong experience designing and building scalable automation frameworks.
  • Highly organized with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable communicating cross-functionally and across management levels.
  • Direct experience applying testing methodologies, including regression, integration, load and performance testing.
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud technologies, including the testing of REST services.
  • Strong people skills as you'll work with other teams in different geographies.
  • Relevant experience working with RTP or SIP services is ideal.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Virtual Servers
  • Hands-on expertise on various VoIP amp; TDM based testing tools like SIPp, Navtel, and Spectra2 is helpful.

Renewal Manager at Dialpad

A Renewal Manager at Dialpad is responsible for providing best-in-class strategic renewal management and execution across a portfolio of existing Dialpad customers. Serving as the customer’s assigned main point of contact for their contract extension with Dialpad. Our Renewals Managers need to foster a high level of trust, satisfaction, and engagement across their assigned accounts. 

The RM will develop and execute the renewal strategy for their portfolio. The RM will own managing the end-to-end renewal process, negotiation, and contract terms. To be successful, the RM will partner with the Customer Success Manager to make sure our customers realize the value of their investment and can demonstrate the value differentiation of Dialpad versus our competitors.  

The RM is a member of the Customer Success organization, will carry a revenue renewal quota, and will report directly to the Director of Renewals Management.  

Renewal Manager 

  • Drive, and lead the renewals process in collaboration with the CSM to preserve and improve customer contracts and relationships
  • Effectively engage with key decision-makers to identify customer requirements and uncover roadblocks to ensure timely commitments
  • Achieve or exceed quarterly revenue goals, tied to retention, growth, and term extension of existing customer contracts 
  • Maintain and report an accurate forecast of renewals
  • Negotiate and execute renewal contracts that align with customer goals
  • Discover and identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities during contract renewal to maximize customer growth
  • Communicate risk clearly and partner with the CSM in developing resolution strategies
  • Escalate whenever appropriate to help resolve customer concerns
  • Serve as the voice of the customer and collect feedback to drive continuous improvement across all areas including product
  • Effectively communicate the benefits of the customer’s Dialpad solution and differentiate from competitive solutions

Your role

About the team

The Product Engineering, Call Features team is focused on the control of the call and provides a stable platform for the Talk and Contact Center applications to be built on top of. An interface between Product Engineering applications like Talk (Phones, departments) and Contact Center (call centers, coaching teams, sales centers) and the Telephony platform (bare metal, SIP, media transport), Call Features provide important features such as fan-outs to member of a department, queuing logic for inbound call centers, routing of calls via IVRs or Voice, local presence enabling dialing out from the local area code of the call recipient, Coaching Teams for listening in and live mentorship, monitoring, and more.

The backend engineering work of the Call Features team is central to complex debugging of a distributed system using Google App Engine logging and custom tooling, and is critical to Dialpad managing a high volume of concurrent calls. 

Your role

As a Software Engineer, you’ll help build and support features for both internal product teams and customers. You’ll work closely with the rest of the team to identify performance and scalability improvements to help take our platform to the next level.

This position reports to our Call Features Engineering Manager and has the opportunity to be based in our LATAM Offices.

What you’ll do 

  • Manage your time and drive the technical roadmap for your feature areas.
  • Improve our shared engineering standards and processes.
  • Learn from and teach other great engineers.
  • Architect systems that scale well both vertically and horizontally.
  • Monitor and tune services to handle ever-growing traffic with 100% availability!

Skills you’ll bring 

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering  or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4+ years of software development experience. 
  • Demonstrated experience with 2+ large production backend systems at scale: designing, building, launching, and maintaining
  • Deep experience with cloud deployed solutions 
  • Strong backend programming experience whether with Python, Java, C#, Node.js, Ruby, etc.
