The team

Dialpad’s Telephony team owns the real-time media platform upon which our business communications are built. The team provides a backend API for reliable audio/video calling, text messaging, phone number management, spam detection, emergency calling, and more.

We also develop the common cloud microservice infrastructure for the company. This includes services like cache, datastore, and text search as well as all the tools needed to deploy microservices across both public clouds as well as our own data centers.

The team

Every engineer on our global Engineering team is given the opportunity to take ownership of a large portion of the product where they’re able to see immediate results. Combining natural language processing and artificial intelligence with world-class cloud computing, the things you’ll create at Dialpad will shape the future of work—enabling companies to work from anywhere and making business communication more human.

The Product Engineering, Contact Center team builds features of our cloud native contact center to give our SMB and enterprise customers the best and easiest experience for their customers. This full stack development team builds workflow features that enable contact center managers to configure functions in a way that is just right for their team, and provides key functionalities ranging from call dispositions, scorecards, coaching, task assignment, CSAT, screen capture, and more. The Contact Center team also works closely with other Product Engineering teams such as Analytics, Integrations, Billing, Call Features, and Voice Intelligence to ensure great end-to-end user experience.

 

What you will achieve

In your first 30 days:

  • Set up your development environment
  • Get to know a highly communicative and collaborative engineering team
  • Complete the engineering onboarding program, including training videos and documentation
  • Begin to get ramped up through hands-on starter projects such as building tooling, bugfixing, and developing a small feature in Talk, Contact Center, or Platform as part of gaining exposure to the work and members of other teams 
  • Learning
    • Paired with a mentor to learn and ask questions
    • Participate in standups to get to know your team and what they are working on

In your first 60 days:

  • Start implementing medium Contact Center features
  • Receive mentorship and code reviews from your peers who love to work together, talk through projects, and help each other overcome roadblocks.

By 90 days:

  • Develop a deeper understanding of Contact Center concepts and the codebase
  • Build features and gain more exposure to increasingly complex projects
  • Work across team boundaries to actively to our shared component library used by all product engineers
  • Contribute input on what the focus should be for upcoming stability/tech debt work
  • Help mentor more engineers!

Who you are

As an experienced full stack engineer, you will own significant user-facing features that directly drive the experience of Dialpad’s contact centre manager and agent users. Whether you bring a background of frontend, backend, or other engineering experience, you are a champion for customer experience and are driven to build features that are easy to use, maintain, and make our customers’ lives easier. 

As part of the Contact Center team, you will have the opportunity to innovate with engineers, designers, and product managers on new features that continue to set us apart from legacy on-prem contact centers. You are also glad to provide input to make the development process better for the team and entire engineering organization.

What we’re looking for

  • Demonstrated professional web application development experience: designing, building, launching, and maintaining
  • Experience with frontend and/or backend development using languages such as with JavaScript, Node.js, Python, Java, C#, Ruby, etc.

  • Deploy and support our global production and corporate network including edge, backbone and data center infrastructure.
  • Work cross-functionally with project management, network engineering to generate implementation plans.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance (Remote and/or on-site) during deployment activities in our data centers and POPs.
  • Calculate and document equipment power/space requirements and consumption for multiple PoP sites. Work with Colocation Vendors, local Engineering, Facilities Operations, to meet these requirements.
  • Perform fault isolation and trouble resolution on network hardware, software, and circuits.
  • Schedule and perform network maintenance including repairs, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Maintain asset database for installed network gear and work with Logistics on vendor RMAs.
  • Maintain technical and training documentation, develop automation and tooling as needed.
  • Participate in on call activities and follow escalation process to support the infrastructure 24/7.
  • Proactively contribute to documentation, automation and processes improvement.

Who we're looking for
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting IP routing/switching technologies and protocols including TCP/IP, BGP, ISIS, OSPF, MPLS, RSVP, and VRRP in a dual-stack IPv4/6 environment.
  • Experience coordinating and executing hardware installation and configuration.
  • Working knowledge of fiber-optic communications technology.
  • Hands-on experience with enterprise and carrier class routing, switching, and optical transport platforms.
  • Knowledge of data center design and operational best practices.

The Role

In This Role You Will 

 
  • Deploy and support our global production and corporate network including edge, backbone and data center infrastructure.
  • Work cross-functionally with project management, network engineering to generate implementation plans.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance (Remote and/or on-site) during deployment activities in our data centers and POPs.
  • Calculate and document equipment power/space requirements and consumption for multiple PoP sites. Work with Colocation Vendors, local Engineering, Facilities Operations, to meet these requirements.
  • Perform fault isolation and trouble resolution on network hardware, software, and circuits.
  • Schedule and perform network maintenance including repairs, upgrades, and migrations.
  • Maintain asset database for installed network gear and work with Logistics on vendor RMAs.
  • Maintain technical and training documentation, develop automation and tooling as needed.
  • Participate in on call activities and follow escalation process to support the infrastructure 24/7.
  • Proactively contribute to documentation, automation and processes improvement.

Reporting directly to the Head of Product Marketing, this individual will be an integral part of our next phase of growth. The Role

As a Growth Operations Analyst, you’ll help power the operational backbone driving the effectiveness and efficiency of our Growth team. In this role, you’ll work alongside Sales, Customer Success and the Growth Operations team on automation opportunities that facilitate the success of our Go-To-Market teams. These opportunities include the implementation and ongoing management of systems and processes to support and continuously propel change using data. What You'll Do

Data:

  • Reporting: Through reporting, help management track daily, weekly, and monthly metrics and OKRs to support the customer experience. Own and develop customer onboarding and customer success dashboards within Domo to drive decision making. 

  • Ownership: Owns the creation, and maintenance of all Domo workflows. Perform data discovery, profiling, and root cause analysis on large data assets. Participate in Data validation and Quality Assurance testing.

  • Analysis: Track leading indicators of retention, renewals management, adoption, utilization, NPS. Develop analytical insights that drive recommendations for action around risk mitigation.

You're a technically savvy Product Analyst that follows the data. The Opportunity


Product Analysts are a critical member of the self-serve initiative @Telnyx. Helping drive the insights necessary to develop an amazing self-serve experience for our products, they allow developers to have a frictionless experience onboarding on the platform. In this highly visible role they work in close partnership with the SVP Self Serve experience, Product Managers and members of the Developer Relations ,and analytics teams, at Telnyx. Responsibilities include:


  • Perform strategic and ad-hoc data work in support of the self-serve initiative (working primarily with PMs supporting multiple products) 

  • Identify opportunities in data to accelerate product adoption, retention, engagement, and/or monetization across the self-serve funnel

  • Develop dashboards and define metrics that inform success for the Product Team

  • Help design, execute and evaluate A/B tests to improve the user journey

  • Serve as the Technical DRI (Directly Responsible Individual) for the Key Performance Indicators of the self-serve initiative

  • Explain trends across data sources, potential opportunities for growth or improvement

  • Develop user archetypes and build dashboards to demonstrate their usage patterns

  • Capture and document data user stories, use cases, and workflows

  • Operate in an iterative mindset, focused on delivering improvements and value at high velocity

  • Work collaboratively with the broader team members including product managers, engineering, design, analytics , developer relations and customer success

Who we're looking for


  • 3+ years of experience focused on feature and usage metrics, A/B testing, conversion and retention, segmentation, and developing user archetypes and their usage patterns

  • 2+ years of experience uncovering data insights to form hypothesis, designing product experiments, evaluating results and making recommendation

  • Intermediate Excel and SQL skills

  • Advanced BI dashboard development (we use Domo)

  • Experience with Segment and product analytics platforms (like Mixpanel or Amplitude) is a must

  • Experience working with Postgres relational database and some python experience would be a huge plus

  • Comfort working in a highly agile, intensely iterative software development process

  • Effective communication skills: Leverage insights to drive business decisions and influence team members

  • Weave iconography, typography, color, space and texture together to help our users successfully navigate the unified Dialpad experience. 
  • Rely on user-centered design principles to create visual design principles and a library that will be used by all Product Designers in their work. 
  • Collaborate with the Design System Lead to evolve our Design System, Dialtone, with strong patterns and guidelines that ensure every product design is set up for success bringing brand, consistency, accessibility and usability into every touch point.

  • You will work closely with the senior QA engineers and leads on the Product side
  • You will own specialized areas in Regression and will be equipped to provide solutions to enhance the regression / functional testing activities.
  • By the end of your first 60 days, you will have gained the familiarity of working with the existing automation test framework and be able to build and demo at least one end-to-end product test running from it.

By 90 days: 

  • You will contribute towards the functional test automation activities with newer workflows and will be actively involved in the upkeep and test script maintenance
  • You will be in the process of owning up the Test responsibilities in the area of Web Test Automation
  • You would be comfortable participating in the automation run cadence  
  • You’ll be our go-to expert in the designated area of functional test workflows
  • You will start delivering results towards current and future OKRs

Who you are

You are a B.E/BTech Engineering Graduate , with a degree in computer science/software engineering with a broad technical understanding and interest  . You bring in 5 to 8  years of relevant work experience or an equivalent mix of work and project experience in functional testing and/or test tools development (test automation)  You are someone who has a deep passion for technical testing with strong fundamentals in software design and experience in building scalable testing frameworks.  You are excited to contribute to increasing release confidence with comprehensive testing. You demonstrate competency and expertise in Web Automation frameworks. You are confident in your ability to share your knowledge with others and are very comfortable working across geographies. Our ideal candidate would have hands-on expertise with Web Application of SaaS-based Products and Services.  Working knowledge of VoIP, Telecommunication Systems, and Communication technologies including WebRTC or SIP-based service would be a definite plus.
