About You and the Role:

Dialpad’s FP amp;A team is more than just the numbers. Using your analytical prowess and business acumen, you’ll be an integral team member driving ongoing planning and critical financial decision-making/analysis needs. You’re highly quantitative, an exceptional business partner, and know how to balance getting the details right while moving quickly in a results-driven environment. 

Ideal candidates have thorough SaaS business model understanding and have prior experience in late stage startup/public company environments. Investment bank and/or high growth SaaS experience is a major plus. In this highly visible role, you’ll report directly into the Director, FP amp;A and will partner closely with key Executives and investor stakeholders. Join us! 

What You’ll Achieve:

  • Support Finance and Business Leadership across relevant FP amp;A and business partner initiatives
  • Become a trusted, primary point of contact for planning and analysis needs across key business partners
  • Assist with short and long-range planning process needs
  • Prepare ongoing deliverables, which include variance analysis to Plan/forecast, forecast updates, risks and opportunities analysis, as well as other monthly corporate deliverables as required
  • Build and report on short and long term revenue margin analyses by product, segment, channel and other breakdowns as needed; own channel partner planning and pricing analyses
  • Prepare recurring financial and key metrics reports easily consumed by investors and management audiences
  • Perform various ad hoc financial analyses that produce clear, actionable takeaways and insights
  • Drive continuous process and automation improvements in partnership with FP amp;A team members, Data Analytics, and business stakeholders

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in a related role, particularly in high growth SaaS/B2B late stage startup or public companies. 
  • BA in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related quantitative discipline required; MBA a plus
  • Strong GAAP understanding and experience with P amp;L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow analysis, including ASC606
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously – demonstrated initiative and inquisitive nature
  • Exceptional organization skills and an impeccable attention to detail
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills across all levels of the organization
  • Systems: Salesforce, Domo (or similar analytics platforms), Intacct (or similar), EPM experience in Adaptive Planning, Host Analytics (or similar), Google Apps
  • Advanced Excel skills required; SQL experience a plus
  • Bonus points: Experience at an investment bank, Big 4, and/or high growth SaaS company

The team

Every engineer on our global Engineering team is given the opportunity to take ownership of a large portion of the product where they’re able to see immediate results. Combining natural language processing and artificial intelligence with world-class cloud computing, the things you’ll create at Dialpad will shape the future of work—enabling companies to work from anywhere and making business communication more human. The role will be within Dialpad’s Security Function with an embedded model into the engineering team. The role will report into the Information Security and Compliance Manager. 

What you will achieve

In your first 30 days: 

  • You’ll build an understanding of Dialpad’s cloud product and platform infrastructure including Google Cloud, AWS, and other systems that support our products/integrations.  
  • You’ll become closely engaged in the security controls that are implemented in our cloud infrastructures including access control, logging, configuration management, secure development lifecycles. 
  • You’ll work with our Sr. Security Engineer, Security and Compliance Manager, and Engineering tech leads to understand the risks that need to be addressed in our systems and the project plans associated with the mitigation. 
  • By the end of your first month, you’ll have a thorough understanding of our product systems and be ready to embark on implementing your first projects to enable security controls. 

In your first 60 days: 

  • You’ll work on a couple of projects to enable automation of security controls in GCP and AWS. This will include building of the security controls, implementing in test and production environments, and documenting the management of the controls for engineering and security. 
  • You’ll enable and consolidate logging from infrastructure components into a centralized service. From the logging intake you will build alerts associated with anomalies that need to be investigated by the engineering team.  
  • You will gain a more thorough understanding of our security vulnerability detection and remediation pipeline. 

By 90 days: 

  • You will complete projects that will help us reach our security compliance objectives. 
  • You’ll be a part of our security team’s on-call rotation to help with alerts, incidents and vulnerability remediation.
  • You will be a part of strategic initiatives associated with security risk management
  • You will be regularly investigating our environment to find vulnerabilities and 
  • You’ll be maintaining the security controls to help meet our compliance objectives associated with SOC2, ISO, and Cloud Security Alliance compliance frameworks. 

Who you are

A security enthusiast with 2 - 4 years of experience who is excited to dive deep into systems to find gaps and build scalable security solutions to consistently remediate the root cause of those gaps. You have experience in scripting APIs and configuring solutions that can allow for secure controls to be implemented across cloud based infrastructures such as Google Cloud and Amazon Web Services. You are developer focused and build security to be part of the initial solution in a preventive and detective manner, rather than a reactive manner. You love to automate security solutions and are able to work with developers across different product areas to provide a paved path they can follow to build secure code and infrastructure.  You are intimately familiar with the security solutions that are provided by the cloud infrastructure providers that can help Dialpad gain visibility and control into our cloud infrastructure environments. (Google Cloud Security Command Center, Stack driver, AWS Cloud Watch, Datadog, etc.)

When you come across areas that you are not familiar with you are able to dive into documentation, learn from team members across different parts of the organization, and find external sources to build solutions that work with Dialpad’s software development life cycle. You have worked with global teams and are familiar with asynchronous working solutions such as Zendesk, JIRA, Github, etc.

Do you have a passion for numbers? Our Finance team is dedicated to solving business-critical problems while adapting to our massive growth and recent funding. You’ll work with a variety of teams across the company to provide financial insights—helping Dialpad operate with frugality. 

 

What you will achieve

  • Become an integral part of the Deal Desk team in support of all revenue activities supporting sales and customer success managers.
  • Hold deal structure to the highest levels ensuring sound deals that are compliant with accounting standards, bookable and good for Dialpad and our customers
  • Become a trusted advisor to the sales organization as it pertains to deal structure, deal guidance and overall approach through the sales cycle.

In your first 30 days: 

  • You’ll work closely with your Manager, Deal Desk to understand the tools, systems and processes utilized to ensure Deal Desk team member success.
  • You’ll engage with internal partners to understand the key stakeholders involved in closing sales deals (Legal, Finance, Product, Sales, Services, etc.)
  • You’ll work with Deal Desk team members to review and understand all process documentation and how it relates to reporting, bookings, and revenue.
  • By the end of your first month, you’ll understand the anatomy of a good deal, the tools and resources utilized that will set you up for success.   

In your first 60 days: 

  • You’ll start to take ownership of some of the transactional business called VSB/ SMB.  You will understand how we support the team and the volume of deals they process through Deal Desk. (Ownership means single point of contract, quote approvals, etc.)
  • You'll provide a weekly high level overview of your tasks via a SWOT overview (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats).

  • You’ll be efficient in handling sales requests while increasing your support and expertise from 70%-90%.

What you will achieve

 

In your first 30 days: 

  • You’ll work closely with the Engineering Manager, Mentor and peer team members to get up to speed on UberConference product overview, features, setting up the development environment, development process, etc…
  • You’ll complete the Product onboarding exam to get all the required access for code submissions and deployments
  • You’ll start on some of the small improvements and starter project to get comfortable with the code flow and the development process
  •  By end of first month, you’ll be familiar with all the stakeholders you will be working with on a day-to-day basis, and also with the development process end to end

In your first 60 days: 

  • You’ll continue on the starter project and also be involved in some technical debt which will help you go the breadth and depth of some of the product features
  • You’ll work closely with the tech lead and senior developers within the team on the design and approaches
  • You’ll start providing the estimates, task breakups, and timelines for any activity taken up
  • You’ll start contributing in fixing any issues(product defect, regressions, improvement, etc..) which gets reported
  • You’ll start giving the work status in the daily stand up meetings and to the product manager

 

By 90 days: 

  • You’ll start contributing towards OKRs which will have a business impact from the product strategy point.
  • You’ll provide the detailed plan for the committed OKRs and ensure you are going on the right track from implementation and also from timeline perspective.
  • You’ll start having cross functional collaboration with other product teams based on the OKR you are working to ensure larger objective of the OKR is met
  • You’ll ensure highest code quality and feature quality is achieved through code reviews, unit tests, performance benchmarks, etc...
  • You’ll work closely with the UX design team, Product Management team and QA team to ensure the OKR is being delivered as per the defined requirement and scope, and get clarity wherever there is ambiguity
  • You’ll start helping the team with the on-call issues, and understand the process of Beta and prod deployments to be ready for product on-call rotation

 

Who you are

You love to develop easy-to-use, scalable, robust, high volume interactive client/server applications. You are passionate to work in a team which owns the full product development, operates with autonomy, makes quicker decisions with faster delivery cycles. You aspire to gain expertise in the full-stack development lifecycle. 

On the front-end side, you don’t rest with just plain javascript but are ready to play with the latest single page app frameworks like Vue.JS and other advanced JavaScript libraries. You also don’t shy away to crank out excellent HTML, and CSS.  

On the back-end side, you are excited to work with Python and go deeper in Google App Engine, Cloud Datastore (NoSQL database), Memcache (distributed cache), Analysis with BigQuery and finally debug with StackDriver. You explore the latest trends in WebRTC and VideoConferencing areas to bring in differentiating capabilities to the product.

The team

You will contribute to our Revenue Operations team by supporting its growing Sales team. This rapidly-growing business within dialpad offers a creative, fast-paced, entrepreneurial work environment. As the Salesforce.com Developer, you will be the primary point of contact for multiple user groups and global teams who require maintenance, configuration, reporting and training. What you will achieve

In your first 30 days: 

  • Work with your team and the Director of Quality to build an understanding of the product portfolio, the business workflows in the product  and the release cadence 
  • Work closely with your Director to understand the vision, challenges, and opportunities ahead. 
  • You will own , participate and contribute towards a part of the functional and system  regression test activities 
  • You will build an understanding of existing internal automation tools and frameworks.
  • By the end of your first month, you’ll understand the team structure, the stakeholders  and the product architecture .

In your first 60 days: 

  • You will start developing a deeper understanding of Product Features and terminology.
  • At a broader level You will understand the goals and challenges of the QA team
  • You will work closely with the senior QA engineers and leads on the Product side
  • You will own specialized areas in Regression and will be equipped to provide solutions to enhance the regression / functional testing activities.
  • By the end of your first 60 days, you will have gained the familiarity of working with the existing automation test framework and be able to build and demo at least one end to end product test running from it.

By 90 days: 

  • You will contribute towards the functional test automation activities with newer work flows and will be actively involved in the upkeep and test script maintenance
  • You will be in the process of owning up the Test responsibilities in the designated areas of specialization
  • You would be comfortable participating in the automation run cadence

  • You’ll work closely with the Engineering Manager, Mentor and peer team members to get up to speed on UberConference product overview, features, setting up the development environment, development process, etc…
  • You’ll complete the Product onboarding exam to get all the required access for code submissions and deployments
  • You’ll start on some of the small improvements and starter project to get comfortable with the code flow and the development process
  •  By end of first month, you’ll be familiar with all the stakeholders you will be working with on a day-to-day basis, and also with the development process end to end

In your first 60 days: 

  • You’ll continue on the starter project and also be involved in some technical debt which will help you go the breadth and depth of some of the product features

Responsibilities

  • Develop flexible test frameworks that substantially increase developer confidence. 
  • Work with product and engineering teams to understand the vision and requirements.

The team

You will contribute to our global Sales team by acquiring new customers, uncovering market opportunities, and getting the market talking about Dialpad! What you will achieve

As a Mid-Market Account Executive, you are a key part of the Dialpad Sales organization, uncovering, managing, and converting 50-1000 employee businesses to excited customers!

In your first 30 days: 

  • You’ll work closely with our Sales Enablement team to get up to speed on our products, space, sales motions, and GTM strategy during your first three weeks.
  • You’ll engage with supporting departments (ex. Deal Desk, Professional Services, Sales Engineering, etc) to learn how they interact with Sales and impact your ability to be successful in your role
  • You’ll work with your Manager to identify the appropriate metrics that you’ll be held accountable for 
  • You’ll jump into and familiarize yourself with Dialpad’s tech stack and understand how to properly utilize the many tools available to you during your prospecting and deal management (i.e. Outreach, SFDC, ZoomInfo) 
  • Your manager will provide you with the relevant tools and guidance to begin building your territory plan to begin prospecting/building pipeline 
  • You’ll begin making your first calls with the expectation to schedule your first New Logo discovery call one week following your onboarding training (approx. 4 weeks)
  • You’ll meet regularly with your mentor/buddy who is a veteran AE to model what success looks like and what it takes to be a top performer

In your first 60 days: 

  • You’ll develop a dynamic understanding of the key competitors in the space so that you can create unique talking points to impact initial deals
  • You’ll gain granular insight into our key differentiators so that you can hold meaningful conversations with potential clients
  • We’ll get you up to speed on our Sales Methodology and the proper steps in execution so you maintain the highest level of conversion in your deals
  • Gain full understanding of our pricing model so you can adequately quote and deliver proposals to prospective customers 
  • You’ll develop your SFDC hygiene and fully grasp the key components of managing your opportunities

By 90 days: 

  • Master the ability to deliver relevant, timely, and effective qualification discussions to define the metrics and compelling events of prospects
  • Develop more autonomy in your deal management and delivery of sales demonstrations
  • Work cross-functionally with your SDR and Channel partners to expand your reach into accounts with the intention of sourcing deals through all avenues 
  • Partner with Sales Engineers to drive technical demonstrations and deal momentum

You will contribute to our global Sales team by acquiring new customers, uncovering market opportunities, and getting the market talking about Dialpad! The global Sales team is made up of Sales Development, Channel, Enablement, SMB, MidMarket, and Enterprise teams—all teeming with unbridled passion and grit. Our reps help businesses solve complex, communications problems felt by everyone around the world.

Our Mid-Market Sales managers are the top people in the company in this function. As your Director I will serve as a mentor that can 1) give you transparency into my role if you plan to advance your career in leadership, 2) change your role to help increase the scope of responsibility/influence if you are performing and that is your goal, 3) create an environment where you can perform and be fulfilled. 

What you will achieve

In your first 90 days:

What you will achieve

In your first 30 days: 

  • You’ll work closely with the CRO, VP of Sales, and current CS/PS frontline leadership team to get up to speed on the current structure, approach to customer onboarding and support, reporting processes, and workflows
  • If you’re from outside the industry, we’ll spend a fair amount of time getting you up to speed on our own positioning, the market, and how we’re different
  • Engage with the CS team to introduce yourself to our largest / most strategic customers

In your first 60 days:

Dialpad is seeking Product Engineering Co-op candidates to work within our in-house Product Engineering department. The team

Instrumental in growing and retaining our VSB (very-small business) customer base, our VSB Sales Team delights and excites our VSB customers, helps them start a trial of Dialpad and works with them through their trial to set them up for success. Using your problem-solving skills and inherent motivation to help others, you will delight and assist our customers from their first touchpoints with Dialpad.

What you will achieve

In your first 30 days: 

  • You’ll learn everything Dialpad, you’ll work with our Enablement team to learn the ins and outs of our product and the unique value prop we offer to our customers .
  • You’ll become familiar with the systems and tools that help our team to perform, including, Salesforce, Outreach and more. 
  • You’ll become an expert in our Sales Process while adapting your own unique style along the way
  • You’ll take your first customer call and begin taking inbound leads
  • By the end of your first month, you’ll understand the ins and outs of the role, the team and our customers. 

In your first 60 days: 

  • You’ll start to become an expert in your role, the product will become second nature and you’ll start to create your own style in selling to our prospects 
  • You’ll begin taking on a steady flow of inbound leads and actively participate in our inbound Sales queue
  • You’ll leverage and develop strong selling techniques and will start driving results that contribute to Dialpad’s bottom line 
  • You’ll become an expert in our process and tools and will start to make recommendations for improvement. 

By 90 days: 

  • You’ll be fully ramped and will start hitting your conversion and revenue targets
  • You’ll be an expert on the team and new team members will start asking YOU for advice 
  • You’ll be providing recommendations on how the team can improve from an efficiency and effectiveness perspective
  • You’ll provide valuable customer insights back to our Leadership and Product teams

Who you are

You’re someone who is looking to jump start their career in SaaS Sales at a company that’s unique and growing. The Product Engineering, Call Features team is focused on the control of the call and provides a stable platform for the Talk and Contact Center applications to be built on top of. An interface between Product Engineering applications like Talk (Phones, departments) and Contact Center (call centers, coaching teams, sales centers) and the Telephony platform (bare metal, SIP, media transport), Call Features provide important features such as fan-outs to member of a department, queuing logic for inbound call centers, routing of calls via IVRs or Voice, local presence enabling dialing out from the local area code of the call recipient, Coaching Teams for listening in and live mentorship, monitoring, and more.

The backend engineering work of the Call Features team is central to complex debugging of a distributed system using Google App Engine logging and custom tooling, and is critical to Dialpad managing a high volume of concurrent calls. 

What you will achieve

In your first 30 days:

  • Set up your development environment
  • Get to know a highly communicative and collaborative engineering team
  • Complete engineering onboarding
  • Begin to get ramped up through hands-on starter projects such as building tooling, bugfixing, developing a small feature in Talk or Call Center to grasp the end user application, and Call Features unit tests
  • Learning
    • Use the starter projects as springboards to learn how the underlying call works within Call Features and how to trace it through the system
    • Learn about the telephony platform and how it interacts with the products
    • Attend weekly Call Feature Q+A sessions: collaborative learning sessions

  • Start implementing features
  • Learn the basic call flow

By 90 days:

  • Learn more complex call flows - develop expertise in a specific domain
  • Participate in tooling, monitoring and logging projects that address team technical debt 
  • Contribute thoughts and new ideas on what the focus should be for upcoming stability/tech debt work
  • Shadow on-call engineer in order to later eventually join the team’s rotation to have on-call responsibility approximately once monthly
  • Help mentor more engineers!

Who you are

As an experienced backend engineer, you will have the opportunity to be a part of challenging technical problem solving and making varied contributions to Call Features, ranging from building features of a robust live system beginning with unit tests, identifying issues and engaging in investigative debugging, building tooling, and conveying relevant metrics up to dashboards such as Datadog, and Google Stackdriver. You bring inquisitiveness to your work and a background with critical stable systems of scale, are experienced with real-time debugging and outages, and have built backend data models that have high performance requirements and complex business logic and state cycles. 

As part of a cross functional team, you will drive technical conversations within and outside the Call Features team, work closely with others including engineers and product managers in design and code reviews, and translate business requirements into pragmatic technical solutions while discussing and navigating tradeoffs.

The team

The developer platform team builds APIs, events, and frameworks for external developers to use to build integrations and plug-ins into Dialpad. The developer platform is key for scaling out Dialpad’s integrations offerings, and has seen rapid adoption from third party developers since its inception. Engineers on this team build backend public APIs and event frameworks, frontend plug-in frameworks, and client libraries. We work closely with a technical product manager who connects with developers to identify their workflows and needs.

What you will achieve

In your first two months:

  • Meet your manager and onboarding buddy who will support you in getting started
  • Set up your development environment
  • Get to know a highly communicative and collaborative engineering team 
  • Complete the engineering onboarding program (including training videos and documentation)
  • Work on starter projects to get comfortable working with the Dialpad codebase. Starter projects are done across all teams, and will help ramp you up on all aspects including: frontend, backend, and architecture.

In your first six months:

  • You’ll work on impactful and educational starter projects within the developer platform team. For example: exposing a public API that allows users to change their presence status.
  • Projects are full stack, but lean more towards backend than frontend.
  • You’ll receive mentorship and code reviews from your peers in the developer platform team. Your peers love to work together, talk through projects, and help each other overcome roadblocks.

After six months:

  • You’ll have a deeper understanding of the developer platform codebase and will be able to work on more complex projects.
  • You’ll build APIs and other platform features based on the team’s quarterly goals. We use API usage data and communicate directly with developers to identify what we need to build to support their workflows.
  • You’ll own the APIs that you build throughout the development cycle: from design, implementation, testing, to monitoring in production.

One year and beyond:

  • The developer platform team is a very engineering driven team, and as a developer you’ll be able to look at our product from the user’s perspective and propose API enhancements.
  • You’ll learn how to do code reviews, so you can share your knowledge with peers in the future.

The Product Engineering, Growth team is focused on the User Lifecycle and how core features are discovered by the users that deliver impact. You often ask questions about a stickiness of a product feature and how users find them. Or how Core Product Features are more accessible to the user by focusing on the health of a user lifecycle, leveraging data, and user feedback to ensure optimal adoption and usage.  

 

What you will achieve

In your first 30 days:

  • Set up your development environment
  • Get to know and feel comfortable in a highly communicative and collaborative team 
  • Complete engineering onboarding
  • Learn how the Growth team’s  key areas of focus tie into the product. Our focus areas are:
    • Getting/keeping new users by reducing entry friction and making our value obvious
    • Minimizing churn by keeping our users happy and supported
    • Minimizing and mitigating fraudulent or exploitative activities
    • Implementing and reviewing internal analytics to keep our direction focused on what users want
  • Add a new analytics event and track it over time in amplitude to measure the impact of a feature
  • Feel comfortable sharing your input during brainstorms on how we can push our team and the product forward
  • Give internal team demos at progress milestones during a project

In your first 60 days:

  • Implement an A/B test, analyze the results, and decide on the winner
  • Be able to anticipate and mitigate fraud risks by proactively implementing detection metrics
  • Begin giving estimates on technical resources and requirements necessary to plan and begin projects
  • Give larger scale internal demos on new features that you have completed and explain how they fit into the bigger picture.
  • Participate in stability based projects that address team technical debt 

By 90 days:

  • Feel comfortable interfacing with 3rd parties or business partners to facilitate integrations into our flows.
  • Develop expertise in nuances inherent in specific signup flows such as self service, sales assisted and international.
  • Be confident enough in your knowledge of our code styles to contribute beyond your own projects through peer code reviews
  • Contribute thoughts and new ideas on what the focus should be for upcoming stability/tech debt work
  • Continue contributing to fun projects meant to delight users!

 

Who you are

As an experienced full-stack software engineer, you will own significant user-facing features end-to-end that directly drive Dialpad’s customer growth. In a heavily metric-driven team, you will be able to innovate and iterate exciting new ideas that can be quickly validated. Passionate about cultivating a narrative for onboarding customers that brings to the forefront everything there is to love about our products such as through guided tours and user onboarding flows, your work will guide users through products’ functionality. 

You bring a strong background in engineering web apps and are keen to build out the exact right UI experience for customers. You are a champion of developing hypotheses and A/B experimentation to improve the product experience and user adoption. In addition to working with the Growth team, you will also work with cross functional teams to vet out solutions and build more simplified products for modern web browsers. 

  • 3+ years’ professional web application-based development experience 
  • Experience with supporting backend for web applications 
  • Strong front-end experience with modern component-based JavaScript frameworks 

 

Our Tech Stack: Python backend on Google App Engine / Google Cloud Platform, Vue.js/vuex frontend running natively in Electron, numerous integrations with third party services

What you will achieve

In your first 30 days: 

  • Get to know the cross-functional team of engineers, product managers, designers and QA engineers that you will be working closely with
  • Set up your dev environment
  • Complete the engineering onboarding program (including training videos and documentation)
  • Work on starter projects to get comfortable with the development process and tools. Starter projects are a good way to gain a wide breadth of exposure to different parts of the code base and to collaborate with engineers who are domain experts in different areas
  • Learn the common workflows, goals, and pain points of our users

In your first few months:

  • Work on features either solo or in groups of 2-3 engineers based on feature size
  • Take end to end ownership of a feature. This includes:
    • Working with the product manager to fully understand the users workflows and the underlying user need or business problem a feature is aiming to solve. 
    • Working with the design team to finalize a user experience that is intuitive and accessible.
    • Identify any dependencies with other engineering teams and engage appropriate stakeholders in the feature planning and design
    • Consider performance, debuggability, extensibility, user documentation, feature usage monitoring and test coverage when designing and implementing features
    • Break down features into smaller deliverables. Track and communicate project status and progress with all project stakeholders

Ongoing: 

  • Find your niche - what kind of impact do you want to have in the team? Do you want to have deep technical knowledge and expertise within a particular area? Do you prefer to cultivate a broad knowledge base and rotate between many different areas within the team? Is your passion working with people to grow the technical skills, development processes, productivity and engagement of the whole team?
  • Continue to learn, build on your existing skills, broaden your areas of expertise by taking on projects that stretch your skills
  • Identify team-wide challenges, risks, technical debt areas and find ways forward through them
  • Contribute to long term technical vision - how can we architect our code, data stores and data pipelines to meet the feature and performance goals of the future?
