iKomek 109 Doubles the Number of Call Center Operators Amidst State of Emergency
Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan, March 31, 2020 -- Due to the national state of emergency, iKomek 109 call center is a single hotline for advising the residents of Nur-Sultan on all of essential matters, quarantine and coronavirus situation in the city, Mayor’s office of Nur-Sultan published on its website.
"We have increased the number of call center operators. Thus, currently we have 53 operators working in shifts, instead of the usual 30. We have also expanded our communication links. Now, up to 120 people can be on standby at the same time," head of iKomek 109 city center, Zhannat Dubirova told the press.
iKomek center receives from 7,000 to 29,000 calls on a daily basis.
"Due to the state of emergency and the heavy workload of the call center, we ask all of the city residents to use digital services that have been developed for their convenience, including the iKomek mobile application or the large orange button on the official website of the Mayor’s office of Nur-Sultan, where people can file a request. They can use a telegram chat-bot iKomek and the SmartAstana mobile application. The questions, which the operator finds hard to answer during the first call, will be recorded and sent to the emergency response team," Zhannat Dubirova added.
