Ambulance Services Fall Under Province

#contactcenterworld

Ekurhuleni, South Africa, Nov 26, 2020 -- Ekurhuleni Disaster and Emergency Management Services (DEMS) reminded residents that ambulance services have been provincialised.

William Ntladi, DEMS spokesperson, said community members are still phoning the City of Ekurhuleni (CoE) emergency call centre for medical or trauma service.

"When not assisted with services needed, they vent their anger and frustrations out on firefighters and resources.

"As from July 1 this year, several fire stations were attacked, windows shattered, and firefighters physically and verbally attacked," said Ntladi.

A series of awareness campaigns were held to inform the public on provincialisation of ambulance services.

The public may contact the Gauteng provincial call centre on 011 564 2210/1.

DEMS is still reachable for fires and rescue services.

The CoE’s 29 fire stations are all linked to the life-threatening call centre on 011 458 0911.
