Call Centre Set Up to Help Identify Those Who Died in Horror Crash #contactcenterworld Musina, South Africa, Sept 21, 2023 - Murray & Roberts Holdings Limited confirmed that 20 people had lost their lives in a horrific crash on Sunday afternoon (17 September) along the R572 road between Musina and Venetia Mine. The accident occurred at approximately 16:00, about 25km from Musina, when a Murray & Roberts bus, transporting mine workers to Venetia Mine, was involved in a head-on collision with a truck. "We can confirm that 20 people sadly lost their lives in the head-on collision. Seventeen of them were Murray & Roberts Cementation employees, along with the bus driver from Hope Transport, the truck driver, and a passenger in the truck," said Mr Jardim, Murray & Roberts's media executive, in a media statement on Tuesday afternoon. Most of the deceased perished in the flames that engulfed both vehicles during the crash. Only four people survived the accident and, at the time of this report, were still receiving treatment in the hospital. "Our four injured employees are in stable condition and continue to receive excellent medical treatment. We wish them a speedy recovery," added Jardim. Jardim indicated that the names of the deceased were still being withheld as the process of identifying them and contacting their families was ongoing. "We have set up an emergency call centre through which family members and friends may contact us regarding this tragic incident. The contact numbers are 015 575 2524 or 015 575 2906," said Jardim. Jardim also stated that Murray & Roberts continued to focus on providing the necessary support and counselling to their employees. "We will be visiting the families of the deceased and providing the necessary support for them to travel to Musina to commence the process of identifying their loved ones," he said. He also expressed appreciation for the support they had received from the Limpopo provincial and local governments of Musina and Blouberg, as well as their business partner, the De Beers Group. "We once again offer our deepest condolences to the families of those who have lost their lives and those who were injured and impacted by this tragic accident," Jardim concluded. Meanwhile, messages of condolence from political parties and government authorities continue to pour in. The DA also urged the Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety to implement a road-safety strategy and increase the visibility and efficacy of traffic law enforcement on the roads. On Monday, Limpopo MEC for Transport and Community Safety Florence Radzilani visited the scene to gather information about the accident and pay a courtesy visit to the patients in hospital. #contactcenterworld Date Posted: Friday, September 22, 2023 About ContactCenterWorld.com ContactCenterWorld.com is the world's premier on-line resource for the call and contact center industry.
