Canada Life Outsources 20 London Jobs to Winnipeg Call Centre
London, ON, Canada, March, 2020 -- Canada Life will cut about 20 jobs in London by outsourcing work to a call centre.
In total, Canada Life will cut about 85 positions after it contracted 24-7 Intouch Solutions, a Winnipeg-based "contact centre" that will offer customer service, stated a release from Canada Life.
"We value the contributions those employees have made to the business and commit to treating all affected with fairness, dignity and respect, consistent with our company values," Diane Bezdikian, a senior vice-president of plan member services with Canada Life, stated in a release.
In addition to 20 staff in London, workers from a temporary staffing agency also were cut.
Canada Life cited "greater flexibility" with the call centre adding it will mean they can offer longer service hours for customers.
Other jobs will be cut in Montreal and Winnipeg.
The job cuts come nearly a year after three subsidiaries of Winnipeg-based Great-West Lifeco – London Life, Great-West Life Assurance Co. and Canada Life Financial – were rebranded as Canada Life Ltd.
