NMC’s Mobile App Helpline Starts Functioning

Nashik, India, Mar 28, 2022 -- The helpline number mentioned on the Nashik Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) mobile application (NMC e-connect) — meant to address the grievances of the city residents — has started functioning almost after a month.

The helpline number was lying defunct for the past one month and the TOI had reported the issue on March 16. An NMC official said they have overcome the software glitches and made the helpline number mentioned on the mobile application functional.

However, the app is currently working only on Android-based mobile phones, and the issue with iOS-based mobile phones still persists as the civic body has not renewed the services by paying the annual subscription fee to the company concerned.

"We are in the process of making the app functional on mobile phones having the iOS operating system. Hopefully, the app will start working out within a week," the official said.

The civic administration had launched its Smart Nashik App in 2014 to facilitate the city residents in filing complaints online through the app so that their issues could be addressed immediately.

Four years later, this mobile app was updated by the then municipal commissioner Tukaram Mundhe in 2018 to make it more citizens-friendly. Accordingly, the Smart Nashik App was restructured and renamed as NMC e-connect. It was launched on March 1, 2018.
