carehome.co.uk Launches Free Care Helpline Supporting People to Choose a Care Home

#contactcenterworld

Hungerford, UK, Jan 3, 2022 -- Choosing the right care home can be time consuming as well as emotionally demanding. carehome.co.uk already helps people search for a care home online as it has reviews of care homes, giving people a valuable insight into what a care home is really like, by the residents living there as well as their family and friends.

But now carehome.co.uk is going a step further and offering people the chance to chat to an expert trained in drawing up a shortlist of care homes suitable for older people, their needs, their interests, their location and their budget.

They will trawl through thousands of care homes for you and filter out all the ones that are not relevant as care homes can differ hugely, some offering a small family-type environment with a patio area and a pub, with while others are larger, offering more hotel-style accommodation with landscaped gardens and a cinema.

'Choosing the right care home can be a minefield'

Paulina Frisby, team leader for the care helpline says: "Choosing the right care home can be a minefield and this is where we can help people. We are able to find suitable residential, nursing, respite, convalescent, and palliative care for anyone that is of an older age that may be living with dementia, the effects after a stroke or brain injury or have disabilities.

"We support them and their loved ones by providing information and finding suitable care homes that will help give them back their quality of life."

She added: "Some of the people we have helped to date are couples, who are well over a hundred, looking to move closer to their family so that they can spend more time with them.

"We have helped daughters and sons looking to have their parents back and focus on creating memories with them again and worried partners that can breathe again and enjoy each other’s company. We have also helped people who are living with dementia and need extra support.

"We really take our time and listen to the person on the line, taking all their worries and feelings into consideration and we try to help and support wherever we can. We are here to make some sort of difference in people’s lives, no matter how big or small."

People can ring the care helpline Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm and speak to one of the team.

Everybody’s needs are different and the team will ask some questions so they can understand exactly what you are looking for and what is most important to you. Following this conversation, the team will use carehome.co.uk’s extensive care home database and its close links with care homes to draw up a shortlist of care homes tailored specifically to the person’s care needs.

Following the call, the team will contact you to see if they can help any more with your care journey.

The care helpline team can help lighten the load

Often those looking for a care home don’t have much time as the need for a care home arises as a result of a fall or a medical emergency. Sons and daughters often have to hold down a job and look after their own children, while also worrying about their mum or dad and being responsible for their care and wellbeing.

This is where the care helpline team is invaluable and can help lighten the load and lessen some of the worry and guilt that can consume people when searching for a care home for a relative or friend.
