HMC's Healthcare Helpline Services Available Round the Clock during World Cup

Doha, Qatar, Nov, 2022 -- Hamad Medical Corporation announced the expansion of the government's healthcare helpline services to be available around the clock, with the aim of providing information and guidance to visiting fans about healthcare services available during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

Fans can access the free helpline by calling 16000 for information about accessing medical care at any of the country's private or public hospitals, medical centers, clinics, and pharmacies.

The 16000 helpline services which operates in both Arabic and English, include providing support to the public and providing them with information about the locations of health care facilities and how to obtain their services and medical support available in the fan areas, as well as information about (Covid-19) and the Ehteraz application, and other information of interest to the public.

Callers to the Hayya Hotline (800 2022) can also be transferred to the 16000 helpline if their query is healthcare-related. The Hayya Hotline can also offer assistance in multiple languages including Arabic, English, French, Germany, Spanish, Hindi, Portuguese, and Mandarin.

Nasser Al Naimi, Deputy Chief of Quality, Deputy Chief Quality Officer, Director of Hamad Healthcare Quality Institute, and Head of the 16000 Health Sector Call Center said the helpline team will be on hand to guide fans with healthcare queries as and when needed.

Nasser Al Naimi said in a statement that fans accessing the helpline will have immediate and accurate information about healthcare services available to them across Qatar during the tournament.

The 16000 helpline was set up in 2020 to answer questions and inquiries related to COVID-19 as well as offer access to a range of key healthcare services at Hamad Medical Corporation and Primary Health Care Corporation to members of the public.

The Ministry of Public Health launched about a month ago a new website that reviews all healthcare services available in the State of Qatar during the World Cup.
