60 Complaints Pour in on Day 1 as Pune Municipal Corporation Launches 24x7 Water Helpline #contactcenterworld The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) received 60 complaints on the first day, and a majority of these (15) were from Katraj and nearby areas. Most of these complaints were related to low pressure supply and water cuts. Other complaints came in from areas such as Somwar Peth, Kothrud, Ambegaon and Satara Road. A PMC official said the helpline number has been linked to a WhatsApp network of civic officials for quick redressal. Officials of the ward office, water supply department and other departments concerned have been added to this group. The helpline sends the complaints, along with the details of the location, to these officials. "The civic administration is focusing on resolving the problems at the local level through this helpline. But issues pertaining to major infrastructure or serious water supply problems will not be resolved immediately," Aniruddha Pawaskar, the head of PMC's water supply department, said. The move came in the wake of citizens raising questions about the civic body's repeated and continuous water closure notices for multiple areas across the city. Ranjana Joshi, a resident from Sambhaji Society on SB Road, said low pressure water supply is a major issue in her locality. "If there is going to be a change in the water supply or a disruption, citizens should get an intimation. An SMS system should be started on the lines of the electricity department," she said. "PMC should also focus on water wastage, which would help in resolving pressure problems." "The water supply is erratic in our area. The timing is so odd that water storage becomes a tough task for us. The supply starts at 11pm, and sometimes gets delayed even further. This problem should be resolved," said Chitra Sakpal, a resident from Ambegaon Pathar. #contactcenterworld Posted by Veronica Silva Cusi, news correspondent Date Posted: Monday, March 6, 2023 About ContactCenterWorld.com ContactCenterWorld.com is the world's premier on-line resource for the call and contact center industry.
