Tructyre Creates 100 Jobs as Gateshead Base Becomes National Call Centre #contactcenterworld Tructyre ATS, which is part of the Euromaster and Michelin groups, announced plans last summer to open a second site on Gateshead’s Team Valley which would become its national call handling and administration office. The company, which provides tyre maintenance and repairs for commercial truck fleets, already employed 30 people at the Queen’s Court base, but was keen to expand its regional presence through the new customer experience centre. A six month recruitment process has now been completed by Tructyre, resulting in the 100-strong new team which handles all calls and administration for Tructyre’s customers nationwide. Michael Dolan, Tructyre’s head of customer experience, said opening the centre during the coronavirus pandemic has been challenging. He said team now works in a new building designed from the start to be as Covid-secure as possible, having worked with Gateshead Council to put the right safety precautions n place. Mr Dolan said: "I have been delighted with the calibre of candidates that we’ve recruited from the Gateshead area. The team is settling in well and have quickly adapted to the commercial tyre industry." Tructyre ATS was established in 1996 and is now part of the global Michelin group. It has a fleet of tyre technicians who travel to haulage company sites to undertake important maintenance of heavy goods vehicles. It also provides emergency support to truck drivers anywhere in the UK. The expansion bring its total headcount to more than 600, with a move to consolidate its operations from three regional centres in Liverpool, Southampton and Birmingham, to the new centre in Gateshead.
