Article : Help us to help those affected in Japan
We are all stunned by the devastation in Japan. At ContactCenterWorld we decided to help out by raising some funds which I can personally donate to those in need when I visit Japan later this year (after our conference in Australia).
I was in Japan only weeks ago visiting Softbank in Tokyo and were already in discussions with them planning a trip later this year to visit some of their service centers which are located across Japan.
With this recent devastation, we would like to see how the contact center world can help those in need in Japan - espacilly children.
With your help, we are looking to do the following:
- Auction off items donated by members worldwide online and at our conferences taking place this summer to raise money
- We will donate some of the fees delegates spend at our conferences taking place around the world and also raise more by donations accepted at the events
Here's how you can help:
Auction items wanted
If you have any items we can auction off - please let us know - we plan to have an online list of items as soon as we can and invite members to bid for them. Some items we would like to have available for conference delegates to bid for as well. So if you have anything we can auction off please email me with the details. Items should be non-perishable and shippable from your location direct to the successful bidder(s) or, direct to our conference venues in Orlando (USA), London (UK) and Gold Coast (Australia).
We welcome products or services that members would be interested in and will bid for. We will post a list of whats been donated by whom etc so we can all say thanks.
If any members can help with support at our conference to assist managing donations and with an auction, please let me know.
If you are attending one of our conferences this summer please bring along some cash that you can donate and use to bid for some auction items - please do not send any cash direct to us.
At our conferences we will announce how much we have raised with the support of our members and I had already planned a trip to Japan in July and would like to go to some of the areas hardest hit and present the funds to several charities during my visit.
I would like to ensure that 100% of the funds gets to where its needed and bring back a report we can publish how the Contact Center World helped those in need.

Thanks for your support - I know many of you already do lots of great things to support your local community and we apprecaite any help you can give us to help those in Japan and in the future, wherever people need help. It's a small world and every tragedy like this affects us all.
