Executive Interview : GOLD Award Winners 2015 - Interview With Sean Coomer from Multichoice South Africa
Sean Coomer took home the Gold medal in the category of Workforce Planning at the Top Ranking Performers Awards in London earlier in 2015. now he sets his sights on Las Vegas and a global championship. Sean sat down with ContactCenterWorld.com to discuss his role, his win and his takeaways from the conference.
Can you tell us about the company you work for, the center you work in and your role?
Our Company is Mutlichoice South Africa and we provide PayTV services to customers. My role is Management of our Workforce team.
Which Top Ranking Performer Award did you enter and why did you choose it in the first place?
The award was for Best Support Professional WFM in EMEA. Entering the awards was done for two reasons the first being Global Recognition of our performance and secondly to learn Best Practices which we can apply to our center.
You won one GOLD medal - how do you feel about being a champion?
I feel incredibly proud of what my team has achieved and this award is the cherry on the top.
Can you tell us about the sense of pride you have now that you won a medal for your company and country?
I am incredibly proud of my team's performance and it is confirmation that we are doing a world class job of planning.
How does your company justify your involvement in this process? i.e. how do they know its valuable enough to participate?
The justification comes through our ability to contribute and extract value from being actively involved in a Global Contact Center Community.
For those who are considering entering these awards, what would you say to those who are not sure about the value of these particular awards?
The level and credibility of the award entrants is really high and there is a great amount that you can take home and implement.
Lastly, as you have been to one of our events, how would you describe the ideas from fellow presenters?
The presenters are well prepared and are eager to show their performance and more importantly how those results were achieved. Additionally your ability to engage with professionals from all levels and industries adds a new dynamic in the way you think of contact centers. The insight and tips open your eyes to new possibilities.
