How do you stay motivated to work from home day in day out and not see your colleagues in person?"We have set up Microsoft Teams, so that we can video call each-other, officially twice a day, but throughout the day too. It helps us all to see a cheery face and reconnect with each-other.
" Many of us have been asked to isolate ourselves from others i.e. stay at home for some time - have you started any new hobbies or interests? if so, can you share some ideas on what you now do to keep yourself occupied during these challenging times?
"We hope to go to Greece in the summer, so intend to start to learn some Greek conversation."
For managers who have teams working from home - what do you do to stay in touch and make sure your staff are motivated and happy with the change in working environment?
"Using Microsoft Teams we have been able to stay in contact with each-other throughout the day. We have a morning meeting to assign tasks, obtain feedback, understand any limitations or restrictions from any colleague that day, i.e. unwell, technical issues, etc.. operational or specific assistance etc. and another one at the end of the day too to update and inform each-other and conduct any handovers, if any staff members won't be working the following day. It gives us all a chance to engage with each-other. We also use Slack, so that people can either group chat or chat individually, throughout the day and allow us to manage breaks and lunch times effectively."
When we worked in offices / centers many of us participated in social activities and had some company perks (maybe free lunch etc) - what is your company doing to make up for these face to face social activities and other perks we now lost by working at home?
"N/A"
For those who are NEW to working from home - When things get back to normal after the pandemic (virus) do you think you would prefer to work back in an office or work from home or split time between work at home and the office? Please explain your answer
"I certainly think that when we return to "normal", the way we consider where we conduct our work will become different, as people and employers will weigh up the advantages/benefits and disadvantages/problems that they experienced during this time, so I expect that there will be more flexibility in the opportunity of working from home, that fit certain requirements whereby homeworking appeared to be the most effective method for the Business, and the staff member. The important aspect is that remote working can be productive, effective and does work well, when implemented and managed efficiently and this has now become more apparent than ever."

How do you stay motivated to work from home day in day out and not see your colleagues in person?"We are using whatsapp, Microsoft Teams and Skype for communication. We are always in comunication. We all start to work saying good morning from Microsoft Teams. We are making feedback interviews via Microsoft Teams and sending each other some important or funny documents, gif e.t.c. We are reading books and suggest others. And also we have online trainings,(e-learning trainings) And also We continue to do our planned trainings through Microsoft Teams.
" Many of us have been asked to isolate ourselves from others i.e. stay at home for some time - have you started any new hobbies or interests? if so, can you share some ideas on what you now do to keep yourself occupied during these challenging times?
"Being in an isolated state increased the workload. Even after working hours, we make disaster plans and evaluate customer demands. Thats why I am just reading book and watching Netflix If I have spare time. And also I am a student and I am studying sociology lessons. Last weekend I cooked something and share with my collegues as challenge:)"
For managers who have teams working from home - what do you do to stay in touch and make sure your staff are motivated and happy with the change in working environment?
"First of all, we use Microsoft Teams and Whatsapp effectively to communicate with my team very often. I always ask everyone whether they are good or not during working hours or after working hours. I am asking if they need something. I ask if their families are good. In this period, sincere interest is one of the basic needs of everyone. In Turkey, people are living in crowded layout with families in their homes. But I have colleagues who live alone at home.
I am especially interested in my lonely friends. I try to call them and make sure they don't feel alone at home. I send the articles that everyone on my team can enjoy and have them chat about the articles. Thus, I can draw their attention to different topics. Most people on my team are married and have small children. Since schools and nurseries are holidays, they must always work and take care of their children. In this process, I give my friends who have small children the right to take extra time when they need it and I try to support them. I also taught the staff on my team to meditate. I shared that meditation would protect them from depression. I suggested meditation music to them."
When we worked in offices / centers many of us participated in social activities and had some company perks (maybe free lunch etc) - what is your company doing to make up for these face to face social activities and other perks we now lost by working at home?
"In fact quarantine is new for Turkey and we are still so busy and we are still working to stabilize home work processes.Due to the extra workload of working at home, we have not yet made a plan to keep our social activities alive."
For those who are NEW to working from home - When things get back to normal after the pandemic (virus) do you think you would prefer to work back in an office or work from home or split time between work at home and the office? Please explain your answer
"In fact it was not easy to manage homeoffice agents before but after this days, I saw that we can. That's why working as homeoffice for 1 or 2 days a week will add value to our lives. Because of the heavy traffic, we lose a lot of time when we come home or return home from work. Traffic is a big problem, especially on Monday and Friday. Maybe working homeoffice these days can make our life easier. However, being in the office and communicating face to face is also very important. Sometimes you may not be able to tell exactly what you want in written communications or phone calls. Therefore, the balance between the time spent in the office and the time worked at home will have a positive effect on motivation."
