News : 1-800-Flowers Outsourcing 220 Jobs to Sutherland
Penfield, NY, August 4, 2014 -- Florist 1-800-Flowers.com is cutting 220 customer service representative jobs, transferring that work to Penfield-based business process outsourcing provider Sutherland Global Services.
In a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act notice filed with the state Labor Department, Long Island-headquartered 1-800-Flowers indicates the layoffs will be done by mid-November. Most of the laid-off workers will be offered jobs with Sutherland, according to the floral company.
