News : 100 Telstra Recruits to Start Soon
Dec 11, 2014 -- The first of 100 new Telstra call centre recruits are expected to be at work by February.
The company advertised the first 50 positions at its Hobart-based NBNCentre of Excellence, which is intended to help Telstra customers make the transition to the National Broadband Network.
A further 50 positions will be advertised soon.
The new jobs at Telstra’s 70 Collins St address will offset 30 job losses from Vodafone’s Kingston call centre, as well as about 30 lost from the M2 Group’s Hobart call centre in April. Qantas also announced in September that it would hire about 60 extra workers at its Hobart call centre.
