News : 160 Jobs Available at Verizon Wireless Call Center
March 17, 2014 -- Verizon Wireless is expanding its Wilmington call center off Shipyard Boulevard and wants to hire 160 new employees this week.
The company is hosting an open house at the call center located at 3601 Converse Drive, company officials announced.
"We’re seeking motivated, passionate people who want to be a part of the rapidly evolving wireless industry," said Michele Brookshire, a talent acquisition specialist at Verizon, in a statement announcing the hiring event. "As a technology leader, Verizon Wireless offers career-minded tech lovers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology in a culture that values diversity, teamwork and performance excellence."
The center, which currently employs 850 people, is expanding to meet customer service demands, said company spokeswoman Karen Schulz.
"Things are going very, very well at Verizon," she said.
Interested candidates should apply online at Verizon.
The call center, which includes a fitness center, cafeteria and parking for more than 1,000 cars, opened in 2004.
