Newcastle, England, Sept 24, 2018 -- Directors at a Newcastle contact centre have created 200 new jobs in the run-up to Christmas as it gears up for a surge in demand.
Newcastle Quayside based Echo-U has launched the recruitment drive for full-time and part-time customer service advisor roles to work on behalf of its courier client DPD.
The new seasonal recruits will be supporting the company in its peak season when the number of parcels delivered will significantly increase throughout the UK.
Successful candidates will work across all customer contact departments and will be responsible for managing customer enquiries over the phone, email, app and social media channels.
The contact centre’s services have expanded in recent years to include managing major company’s social media and app accounts, among other services.
The expanding firm – which took on an extra 155 seasonal workers last Christmas to deal with demand – has also invested in its offices at Tyne House, The Side, to create new break areas with a quiet ‘zen space’, chill out zone and bistro area.
The new recruitment drive comes just five months after the firm created 100 new jobs on the back of a series of contract wins.
