News : New Funding Programmes, Call Centre for Entrepreneurs Cleared
MUSCAT, Jan 1, 2013 -- Al Rafd Fund yesterday held its fourth meeting at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry under the chairmanship of Dr Ali bin Masoud al Sunaidy, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of the Fund’s Board of Directors.
The Board approved the minutes of the previous meeting and reviewed the report on the follow up of implementation of the decisions taken at the third meeting. It also reviewed minutes of the meetings of human resources and audit committees. The Board approved the four new funding programmes that will be initiated from January 1, 2014 and the launch of the Fund’s website. Applications for loans may be submitted through this website with effect from the first week of January.
The Board also approved the construction of a call centre for entrepreneurs and the mobile Al Rafd Fund branch. This branch will provide the information and services related to establishing individual’s projects.
It will also meet those who desire to start projects or need support and provide them with the suitable funding. The mobile branch will be equipped with modern furniture, equipment and relevant electronic systems. The Board also approved the investment plan for the Fund through ‘Sanad’ Centres and stressed the need to develop these centres and add new services to them, as well as amending their bylaws. It also approved the plan to lease premises for the Fund branches in the governorates. It reviewed the memo of activities and professions that had been completely Omanised in the wilayats and approved the formation of a joint committee between the Fund and the respective departments at the Ministry of Manpower to facilitate procedures.
