News : 49 Jobs Go at Devonport Call Centre
Nov. 8, 2013 -- Devonport call centre Sitel has sacked 49 people.
Sitel Australia said it has consulted with staff following the short-notice decision of one of its clients to downscale its external support.
Staff are expected to finish about mid-December.
"Unfortunately, we have no control with regard to the timing and scale involved, but in response to the client decision we are doing our best to alleviate the effect on staff through redeployment where possible and the provision of outplacement services,'' Sitel General Manager for Australia and New Zealand Brendan Mengel said.
