News : 8x8 Issued New Network Service Provider Patent
San Jose, CA, US, Jan 29, 2015 -- 8x8, Inc., a provider of cloud based unified communications, contact center and collaboration services, announced in a press release that it has been awarded a new patent related to its network services. On January 27, 2015, the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) issued United States Patent number 8,943,180 entitled "Server-based Service Configuration System and Approach."
The new patent relates to, among other things, a host network location that includes two or more servers that automatically reconfigure their services in response to controller service settings corresponding to each server. Each server reads configuration information provided at a controller such as a domain name server (DNS), and in response, starts a network-based service corresponding to the configuration information.
