News : A 24-hour Free Dental Helpline via Website Launched
Bangalore, India, June 1, 2015 -- A team of dentists from Manipal have launched a 24-hour free helpline through the website Dentogate.com to provide consultations on any dental related problem.
The team comprises Kumar Siddharth and Romik Vadhva-na, besides technical experts, through the start-up Dental Innovations India Pvt Ltd, op-erating from Manipal University Technology Business Incubator (MUTBI), Manipal.
Siddharth, general dental surgeon and promoter and director of Dental Innovations India Private Limited, told BM that the helpline or the dental call centre consists of dental experts, both general dental surgeon and specialists.
The dentists are available on call 24x7 for consultations on any dental-related problem. The helpline (0808-8481-308) is meant to solve any dental need of the callers, be it consultation or queries related to dentists in the vicinity. They also provide help to patients to reach out to the dentists concerned.
"The dental helpline ensures that there is a dentist to see a patient in the hour of emergency. It will motivate an individual to visit a dentist regularly to get oneself screened for any dental disease so that people take oral health seriously. The interactive voice recorder during a call has been customised to give people oral hygiene tips on a daily basis," said Dr Siddharth.
For the time being, the helpline is active in Udupi and a few districts of the state. Soon, it will be expanded across Karnataka and then to the rest of India. The team is in the process of creating a database for the whole state and the rest of India. Once that happens, the helpline will be extended to the entire country. The helpline service is free of cost.

Within a week's time, Dentogate.com will launch an appointment booking system based on the availability of the dentist. Registered users can fix an appointment with the registered dentist on the platform. A patient can look for dentists either by name, location or dental problem in case the patient wishes to see a specialist.
The team is also all set to launch a consultancy forum wherein registered users can submit their dental related query and dentists registered on the platform can answer them along with a link to his availability if the user wishes to book an appointment with the concerned dentist.
