News : A New Call Center Coming to Jenkins
Jenkins, KY, USA, July 24, 2015 -- Hope for Jenkins. That is the theme for the new call center coming to the town.
Tom Lane, owner of Healthcare National Marketing, was looking for a place to start a new call center for his insurance company. Leslie Foster suggested Jenkins.
"Healthcare National Marketing is an insurance agency that works across all the time zones in the continental US. It started about 1999 in Florida with Tom Lane. It's his company in Florida. He has currently built the business up where it has over 300 employees."
Foster says this is about bringing a place for the unemployed to create a job safe-haven in, what used to be, a coal town.
"It's going to be a big boost to this region.. not just the city but you have Virginia, Pike County and other parts of Letcher County and Whitesburg. It's going to be a big jump for a place that needs it desperately."
Foster says this is an exciting project- meant to bring hope to the area.
"They're excited about bringing home to Jenkins. Back in November, Sherry, the CEO of the company, and her father, Tom Lane, and I were talking about how we could further bring hope to Jenkins."
The call center will bring 50 jobs, but Foster hopes it will expand to 100 in the future. DePriest says he hopes this will affect the families around Jenkins in a good way.
The call center will open September 8th.
They will host a job fair and ask that anyone who is interested bring a resume and an ID.
