News : Atlantic City Call Center to Hire First 50 Workers by Sept. 30
Pleasantville, NJ, USA, July 21, 2015 -- The call center opening shop in Atlantic City this fall aims to hire about 50 staffers by the end of September, with the possibility of bringing on approximately 250 more by the end of the year, the company’s CEO said Tuesday.
Warren H. Golden, head of Atlantic City Contact Center LLC, said hiring may extend into early 2016. While 300 staffers will work the center’s phones, he said, another 32 individuals will serve in training and management positions.
Golden said he’s planning a job fair for early to mid-August. The event will likely be at the Claridge Hotel, the business' future home. The exact location and date of the fair will be announced soon, he said.
In addition to the fair, Golden said he’ll work with the One-Stop Career Center in Pleasantville to find employees.
Eric Reynolds, director of the Mayor’s Employment and Job Training Program, said Tuesday that his staffers in City Hall will also work to connect applicants with the company.

Starting salaries for call center workers will be between 12 and 13 dollars per hour, Golden said, while managerial salaries will be based on experience.
Medical benefits for employees will be paid by the company, Golden said. Medical benefits for family members will be available as well, but will require an employee contribution, he said.
Golden said that a customer service background, something often possessed by displaced casino workers, is helpful for the work, but isn’t required.
