News : Administration's 24X7 Call Center for Public Grievance Open
Lucknow, July 10, 2014 -- From problems related to overflowing sewer lines, choked drains, scarcity of drinking water or a disease outbreak, all complaints would be registered on toll-free phone number. The problem would in fact be noted with a promise of time-bound solution with Lucknow district administration's Jan Suvidha Kendra.
"The backbone of the Kendra is a round-the-clock call center dedicated to registering public complaints to be passed on to the officers concerned for action," district magistrate Raj Shekhar told reporters. He informed that the concept is running successfully in 13 cities of UP and has been awarded by national and international agencies in social innovation category.
Four call operators and two others would be running this call center where complaints would be registered in five categories each with a stipulated deadline for redressal. "The call center would be in trial phase for a week and then roll out in full swing," an official said.
"From civic problems, to health issues, street lights, bad roads or crime, citizens can dial up the call center for redressal," he said and warned against misuse of the service. "Those making crank calls would be caught easily as their location would be traced through the system," he informed.
