News : Ageas Retail: Call Centre Boss in Job Loss Threat Talks
Belfast, N. Ireland, March 9, 2015 -- The boss of a company where 200 call centre jobs are under threat is to meet local politicians for the first time since the news broke.
An SDLP delegation will meet with the Chief Executive of Ageas Retail in a bid to save the jobs at the west Belfast employer.
Ageas, which is based in Springvale Business Park, has entered a 90-day staff consultation period.
The West Belfast MLA, Alex Attwood, said: "This is the first time that Ageas Retail has broken cover in order to speak to politicians.
"The failure of the company to provide proper information to workers first and foremost and to everyone else thereafter has been unacceptable."

Mr Attwood said that the company needed to answer key questions, such as why it plans to close a Belfast operation that he said is more profitable than its Bournemouth call centre.
The Belfast operation provides outbound calling services to potential customers for the insurance brands RIAS and Castle Cover.
"I will be firmly seeking answers so that the workforce can be properly informed, not treated in a shoddy manner," said Mr Attwood.
