News : All-India Railway Helpline for Passenger Amenities
Mumbai, India, July 3, 2015 -- An All India railway helpline number has been launched exclusively for passengers.
Said an official : "To ensure better public interface through convenient communication, Railways have introduced an exclusive helpline number 138 for specific queries regarding various types of passenger amenities, grievances and suggestions. One can use the public interface for queries/complaints exclusively related to medical emergency, cleanliness, food and catering, coach maintenance, linen etc."
The All India helpline number 182 can be used for railway related security and the number 139 for rail related inquiry such as PNR, accommodation availability, fare enquiry and current train running position, an official stated.
