News : Alorica to Create 400 Jobs in Joplin
Joplin, MO, USA, Oct 11, 2017 -- At a news conference Wednesday, global customer service company Alorica will announce the addition of 400 jobs to its Joplin contact center.
All of the new jobs the company will be announcing full-time positions eligible for benefits, said Jacob Kramer, senior director, on Tuesday. Kramer said the company's clients have praised Alorica's customer service performance and wanted to expand the use of its services.
Kramer declined to name any specific clients. The company's business model is set up where it secures contracts with companies to provide customer service specialists through its various centers around the globe.

The local center, located at 1717 W. Seventh St., will feature customer service jobs spread across various platforms in addition to over-the-phone connections.
"How we serve our customers isn’t just contact centers anymore," Kramer said. "The market and how people communicate has evolved, so how we help our customers a lot of times might not even be on the phone. It could be helping via social media, email, chat-based. With how the market has changed, we have had to evolve as well, and these types of positions are directly aligned for that market change."
Muche declined to say how much the new jobs would pay, instead touting the company's "culture."
"I think people want to work at a place where they have a career opportunity, and I think they want to work in a place that has the same vibe they’re looking for," he said. "We’re in the people-to-people business; we solve people’s problems. Our job is to take that positive attitude, engage folks and solve their problems."
