News : American Cruise Lines to Open Utah Call Center
Dec 12, 2013 -- American Cruise Lines is planning to open a new sales and reservation center in mid-January just outside Salt Lake City, Utah, to support the company’s continuing growth in the domestic small-ship and river cruising market.
The new location in Sandy, Utah, a suburb of Salt Lake City, will initially open with some 35 sales positions for which the company is currently hiring.
Plans for a new call center come in the wake of American Cruise Lines announcing that it will launch four U.S. newbuilds over a period of less than four years beginning in 2015. "We have more demand than capacity," said American Cruise Lines President Charles Robertson recently told Travel Weekly.
American Cruise Lines plans on introducing a second 154-passenger paddlewheeler in early 2015, which will be a slightly larger sister ship to the 150-passenger Queen of the Mississippi the company launched last year.
Following the launch of the second paddlewheeler, the company will build three additional vessels that will be delivered about once every 11 months starting at the end of 2015. One will sail somewhere on the West Coast, one on the East Coast, and the location of the third is still undecided.
