News : AT&T Johnson City Call Center Hiring 70 Employees
Johnson City, TN, USA, Aug 16, 2016 -- AT&T is looking to hire 70 full-time customer service representatives at its call center in Johnson City.
Candidates will also learn about benefits that are offered, career growth opportunities, the application process and will take a tour of the call center.
"Thanks in large part to our state and local officials, we have an improved environment for private investment that makes jobs like these possible," said Gary Mabrey, Johnson City/Jonesborough/Washington County Chamber president and CEO, in a written statement from AT&T. "AT&T is more than just a corporate partner, they are a community partner and today’s hiring announcement is welcome news to families throughout our region."
Sen. Rusty Crowe, R-Johnson City said in the statement that he believes it's great that jobs are being created but believes it's especially beneficial that these positions will help to provide Tennesseans with the modern communications services that they want.
"My colleagues and I saw the growing demand for these services," Crowe said in the statement. "That is why we worked to improve the regulatory environment in Tennessee, to attract the type of investments and jobs that deliver these services."
AT&T customer service representatives start out making between $12.50 and $13.62 an hour, according to the statement.
