News : Barclays Lines Up 100-plus New Jobs in Sunderland
Sunderland, UK, Feb 6, 2015 -- Barclays is to create more than 100 new jobs at its Sunderland contact centre.
The jobs boost at the Doxford International Business Park site comes as the bank rolls out video banking, allowing customers to interact face-to-face with staff through their computer, tablet or smartphone, 24 hours a day.
Barclays Sunderland site president and head of customer services Christine Allenson said: "Sunderland is at the forefront of our plans to make telephone banking more accessible and we need more people as we expand the services we provide from the site.
"We will be recruiting throughout the year and we are looking for people with a strong customer service ethos, who share our values and have a can-do attitude.
